preach. It's a pretty boring town that is filled to the gills with faux-'southern charm'. It's got a couple of decent bars (that seem to close at about 10p) that are vastly overcrowded on any given weekend. The people are phony and pretentious. The grove is overrated too. It's a bunch of college kids playing dress up and suburbanite soccer moms coming down sipping white wine.

Correct. I indeed hate Ole Miss. but I wouldn't wish all of this on anyone. It's just sports.

The bar scene in oxford is far from excellent. It's good. Athens bar scene is excellent.

I think it has to do with what ole miss did in recruiting and the attitude your fans had about it. But its not the only reason.
Take your HC. You are busted with cheating and it angers people that he is using God. That brings down God, not edifies.
Even now on the recruiting.... you had a booster at a recruiting visit. The question is that booster a disassociated?

The Delta culture is fubar with everyone trying to outdo everyone else in terms of snobbish behavior. They don't realize that instead of presenting as elite, the behavior comes off as self delusion and overcompensation for being in one of the poorest areas in the poorest state. I can't tell you how many times, I've heard about how much wealth is at Ole Miss and how it is the premiere School. They have deluded themselves into believing that they are the Ivy League school of the south.
