Oxford is a nicer town

It has a few higher end restaurants, and that's pretty much it. I'm not really sure that it's "nicer."

I'm a big time fan of both.

I have spent an extensive amount of time in both Starkville and Oxford, and there is almost no difference between the two towns.

The difference is that people like Oxford and want to be there.

Personally, I think Baton Rouge is the worst town in the SEC. I just didn't like it much.

That is true about the restaurants. Oxford is sort of old people catnip.

I think the difference is in the campuses. Ole Miss has a beautiful campus. Miss State isn't all that great.

I'll just throw it out there that Tallahassee sucks btw

Oxford and Starkville are to small for me.

Oxford has the square and Starkville has the cotton district. That's it.
If you are out of college and young adults both towns suck.
That's my own opinion. Some people might like going to Walmart for groceries and live the small town life.

Maybe in terms of population but that's about it. Starkville is full of stereotypical Mississippians, even the college population would fit mold of being somewhat backwards. Starkville is full of crime whereas you could drop me off at any location in Oxford on foot at any time of the night and I would feel 100% safe. The nightlife and overall number of activities in Starkville is laughable in comparison to Oxford

Really? I think the town is the difference. They both have nice campuses.

I've spent time in both Oxford and Starkville and while Oxford is a bit nicer, I enjoy Starkville more. Lots of great places to eat like stromboli's, little dooie, oby's, Christie's, etc. and the people are more friendly

I had a good tailgating experience in Starkville but the in-game experience was terrible. Patron and cowbells don't mix. Never again.

Quite frankly, as someone who lives ITP in Atlanta in an area filled with "blue dot in a red square" type folks, I'd rather jump off a bridge than interact on a daily basis with the Wright Thompson professional southerner types like that. The over the top "look how different and more progressive we are than all the rednecks around us" type stuff is just nauseating.

Miss State just looks like a Russian attempt to replicate Auburn. Sorry

Can't say too much about the other locations on the list but Starkville is much better than Lubbock imo

I have traveled to about 35 of our wonderful states and I can affirm that Lubbock Texas is the nastiest city in these united states. It is gross

Lubbock has dust storms. no thanks

This is indeed true and the dust storms do suck, but they are just a pain in the arse when compared to the mud storms.

A dust storm and then ad rain on top of it.

fricking MUD rains down. You'd think it's the End Times.

Your perception of Ole Miss is a bunch of "southern professional Wright Thompson's"? They're just regular people who happen to be from southern states. Ole Miss just doesn't embrace the country/deliverance personification

I am not a big fan either. I mean the atmosphere and all that is great but don't like the town

No, my perception of the identity that Oxford likes to give off is that.

Lubbock Texas is the most depressing city I think I've ever been too. The people there seem sad too.
