Lubbock is not a bad little town.

And it isn't even in the Rockies either. It's just in that Western Washington/Western Oregon desert on the other side of the Cascades but not quite into the Rockies.

Looks like the moon.

Several SEC towns are small with nothing to offer.

Ames is a great college town.

Starkvegas is world's better than Lubbock, IMO.

Ames is also really close to Des Moines. A lot closer to civilization than Stillwater or Manhattan

Quaint is a good word for Oxford.

Disagree. Starkville is pretty bad, but at least you don't have to shovel snow during the winter like a lot of places.

I have spent an extensive amount of time in both Starkville and Oxford, and there is almost no difference between the two towns.

Starkville population: 24k
Oxford population: 20k

I dunno, sounds like your town is a little bit smaller and therefore worse.

And don't forget Starkville is part of the very metropolitan Golden Triangle region.

And for one corner of Auburn. The rest is cow pasture and trailer housing.

Corvalis and Ames are great college towns and don't belong on a list.

Lubbock sucks. Starkville is meh and isolated. Never been to Pullman but checking the map it's close to nothing worth a damn.

In summation:

Good:

Ames
Corvalis

Somewhere between "Meh" and "Bad":

Starkville

Bad:

Lubbock
Pullman

Oxford is a nicer town..I don't really have any problem admitting that. Is it a place I would want to live after I graduated? Not a chance...it's very small with nothing to offer. That goes for a decent amount of SEC towns.
