You are correct. A&M's endowment dwarfs ours. But if I am not mistaken, William Barret Travis, an SC native, was the commander of the Texas independence forces at the Alamo. Also, James Butler Bonham, a former SC College (USC pre-Reconstruction) student, was a hero of the Alamo and became famous for fighting through Santa Ana's lines after trying to find reinforcements, just to return and die for the Texas cause. You could buy our crap little school I suppose, but if it weren't for that "testy little state" of South Carolina, the Texas Revolution may well have never happened.

Eh, I get where you're coming from but I think you're overstating your position regarding that.
It's much appreciated though. Always will be.
Tennessee though. They have a significant point regarding that.
Unruffle your jimmies.
To a man, everyone loves being in the conference but I really don't understand the notion that we should be wallflowers. The seen but not heard children.. We'll respond when provoked as you are obligated to in these situations.
Spurrier said something stupid that he really doesn't have a clue about. Par for the course from what I know. Either way, he's a good coach and I assure you Sumlin takes it seriously.
Most people around here really don't know us yet... LSU fans and Arkansas fans notwithstanding, which is why I wish we'd play more east teams at least for a while. Oh well.
You'll be treated very well if y'all ever come down for a game... as you should.

I'm picturing a Gamecock-Aggy tailgate with Chairmen of the Board singing "Carolina Girls" and then Tanya Tucker singing "When I Die Just Let Me Go To Texas."

I grew up on a street in SE Texas called Bonham Dr.

Love the fact that y'all memorialize Bonham. He is kind of overshadowed here by John C. Calhoun and the rest of the SC secessionists post-Missouri Compromise.

Travis and Bonham are in the Texas pantheon, and every Texan worth his/her salt knows it.

Plus
Crocket (Tennessee)
Austin (Missouri)
Houston (Tennessee)
&
Juan Seguin (Tejano)
Texas History is fascinating if I do say so myself. Settled originally by the Spanish in response to a Frenchman accidentally winding up on their shore, encouraged Anglo settlement by a random chance meeting of a Missourian and a Dutchman in Spanish San Antonio, fought over by mostly southerners and settled by Germans, French and Irish in their own separate colonies after the revolution, fought along a frontier for over 200 years versus the Apache and latter the Commanche who pushed them out of the fertile buffalo grounds. Decimated by the Civil War and turned to the only natural resource available at the time, cattle.
I think this e-fight has run its course, eh?

Well, in all fairness, it would have happened. It had more to do with the location of the fort than who was the commander or that a SC native went for help and returned. I mean, the SC guy did not get help and he didn't stop the overrun.
All Santa Ana had to do was go around the Alamao, bu he could not believe the people at the Alamo would not surrender in the face of overwhelming odds, so he just HAD to take the fort. (Vanity) it slowed him down util forces could be placed in more strategic and important places.
All that said, A&M fans like to say they have better facilities, more money and some fo the best recruits....they SHOULD be showing better results with all of those advantages, wouldn't you think?

Man, we're just now starting to see some of those advantages take effect, much less pay off. Kind of the whole reason for joining the conference in the first place, tbh.

1) HBC was saying this at a gamecock meeting, not on ESPN or some shite. He was in front of the gamecock club, he can say whatever he wants.
2) Why does what he said make so many Gumps upset? Damn, y'all are a sensitive bunch.

A&M tried to strengthen their schedule by adding Furman, Wofford or The Citadel, inthepast/future but they were all full with future tilts against USC

I'm already rustled thinking about what Spurrier will say before the Auburn-SCAR game.

Nobody is safe from the OBC forked tongue. He once had nothing else to do and actually took a shot at UK.

Why does he have our scheduled memorized?
He seriously rattled off aTm's SEC record while listing their OOC opponents from last season? WTF?

Probably has something to do with it being at least twice as hard as any other division in football
