Why drag out the inevitable? I love SOS. He knew that it would be very difficult for USC to fire him, too much controversy on the program, so he did what would have been hard. By doing it this way, he saves the university $$ in buyouts, etc.
When it's time to go, it's time to go. It's never the right time to get divorced but once you know, why wait for the kids to grow up???

He bitched out because he looked down the road to the Clemson game and saw a 40 point beating that he didn't want to end his legacy with. And in his absence, his team stepped up and made the game respectable.

When you're SOS or Nick Saban, you're the only one at your university that can stand up to yourself, so that makes sense. Actually, that previous sentence was mostly gibberish, but I knew what I meant.

Spurrier should be hammered for quitting on his team like he did. He is a giant pussy that could dish it out but when it came time to get his beatings he bitched out. I have zero respect for him for the way he went out. He spent his entire career running up scores and taking shots at opposing coaches and schools, however when times got too tough for him he quit like a little bitch.
