Before my time. Didn't even know you guys lost a Natty because of Navy. Sad!

To be fair Spurrier made our arse quit plenty of times... guess you could call this payback. I don't think he could have stood ending his career on a 3 game losing streak vs UT.

South Carolina hired a coach that is 2-0 vs Butch and 4-0 vs Tennessee.

They were #2 and 9-0 and I believe had an invite to play Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl regardless of whether they beat Clemson or not the next week. Navy went 4-6-1 that year.

Yep. Invite was in hand with a win over Navy. Lost that game, went on to beat the Fridge William Perry and Clemson the following weekend but it didn't matter. Got an invite to the Gator Bowl instead where we lost to Ok. State.
