LSU:

Anthony Jennings is the truth. Incredible pocket awareness for a TRUE freshman that should be in high school right now.

Starting Free Safety (Raven)

Starting Linebackers (Jenkins, Baggs, Sanders)

I was very impressed with Bateman in Elite 11. he will be solid. Way better than a mclroy but not better than mccaron

O-line: There wont be much if any drop off. Matthews looks just as good at LT as Joeckal and there's been no dropoff at RT with Ogbuehi. Little Matthews seems to have quickly picked up the center spot and actually snaps the ball out of the gun a lot more accurately than Lewis did it seems. The demise of A&M's o-line has been greatly exaggerated.

Receiver: The discussion of best SEC receiver should begin and end with Amari Cooper and Mike Evans IMO. All due respect to Vandy, but those two are on another level.

Defense: Half our defensive starters sat out the spring due to injury, including five of the top eight on d-line. Impossible to know, especially with so many freshmen d-linemen coming in.

Special teams: Drew Kaser looks fantastic at punter, Bertolet still sucks. If he costs us a shot at a natty he might be thrown from the third deck of Kyle.

He went to the sidelines to kick the gatorade cooler, but missed, kicking the dividing wall instead.

a lot of people are loling at Sims but no one mentions that they had him running a pro-style offense and no zone reads.

I wasnt that impressed with Morris. He just seemed to be the least uncomfortable of the other QBs besides AJ. Did anyone else hear Saban call him Alex? not sure what to read into that.

3 or 4 o lineman stepped up, so now we are trying to figure out who to start. It is a good problem to have cuz we have no depth.

Where did you read that? It's bullshite.

As far as Bama, the white team defense looked slow. The crimson defense looked fast and mean. Combine the best of them on one team, they will be nasty as always.

Belue stepped up big time and will be the main guy. Geno smith will be the next big CB IMO. Fulton didn't play much and he figures to contribute. I thought Cyrus Jones played well especially since he just switched from WR. Overall, we played well in coverage.

A&M:

- Our receiving corps seems to be in a good place after losing Swope and Nwachukwu

- Bertolet still sucks and needs to be replaced

- Manziel played in the Maroon & White game so he made it through the Spring without getting arrested

As for the OP, our biggest question was QB, and I think it was answered. Brandon Allen is likely gonna be the starter.

Vandy:

DL - will be the best and deepest that VU has ever had, have watched a ton of SEC football over the years and have seen how behind VU has been in this area for many years. Gap has closed significantly, name to keep an eye on DT Vince Taylor

LB - set 2 returning starters and impressive young depth

DB - basically set, 2 good safeties in Ladler and Marshall. One near elite CB in Hal, other CB spot is Steven Clarke's right now but I could see on of the young CBs stepping up and taking it in camp. Some names to keep an eye out for RS Fr. Torren McGaster & Brandon Banks, true Fr. Ryan White

QB - All we can do is wait and see Carta Samuels against live competition, started out slowly but finished 14-20 about 150 & a TD, Johnny McCrary (Army All American) EE true Fr. is going to be the real deal incredibly impressive.

RB - set, Tate, Kimbrow & Jerron Seymour will all be able to make an impact, I'm not sure if VU sees a true "no.1" emerge likely to be RB by committee.

TE - showed improvement but I think the coaches expect JUCO TE Brandon Vandenburg to be the starter once he arrives on campus in June.

WR - set, one of the best duos in the country in Matthews/Boyd likely will need a Fr. or 2 set up to provide depth at the WR spot

OL - Much like the DL it finally looks like a "legit" SEC offensive line. Going to be the first OL at Vandy to average over 300 pds in recent memory also has built quality depth the last 2 years with 6 RS fr. on the depth chart.

ST - incomplete, Spear will handle FGs and kickoffs and do well once again coming off an All SEC season. Punting job still up for grabs though.

Excited for the season to start, VU's defense will be able to play with anybody look bigger, faster and stronger than a unit that was already in the top 20 nationally the past 2 seasons. Offensive success will depend on how Carta Samuels reacts once the real bullets start flying, he does have some nice insurance pieces in Matthews and Boyd to fire it up to if he gets in trouble.

QB- Brandon Allen looked a little better than Mitchell, but in mitchell's defense he wasn't able to use his legs. Still a lot of work to do but he looked more sharp than last season.

RB- Despite losing 3 RBs from last year i think we could have pretty good depth here. Jonathan Williams is the favorite to start but looked just ok in the game. Walk on FB Arinze was punishing, we should be much better in short yardage this year. Kody Walker and Nate Holmes should provide good depth. We get Alex Collins for the fall too.

WR- Herndon, Hatcher, Wilson and Cowan all looked solid. I dont think we will have a superstar WR like we had with hamilton last year but our WR unit as a whole could be better. But who knows if it was just the secondary looking like last year.

OL- Hard to tell really but the interior line looked good. Hard to be much worse than last year...i didnt pay much attention to them really.

DL- Really like our depth here. Our young guys are going to be really good in the future and we should have one of the better lines in the SEC.

LB- Looked like a revolving door, although we had a few guys held out with injuries. Shannon could make them play to their full potential and we have some guys with talent but its pretty wide open competition right now.

Secondary- Gave up a few big plays but looked more crisp than last year. Had two INTs and juco transfer Tiquention Coleman looked like he will push for big PT. Still not great but an improvement.

Hocker was money, almost made a 62 yard FG. Our offense was pretty balanced...we will be a lot more physical than we were last year. Chaney mixed up the passing plays pretty well, didn't see the same crossing route that we ran over and over again with hamilton last year.

We still have a lot of work to do but i think this can be a bowl team. I said 6-6 before the game and ill stick with it

You expect college kickers to consistently make 50+ yarders like the one he missed during the LSU game? The 5 turnovers had nothing to do with losing that game? Did he miss a kick in the Florida game?

You guys give that kid way too much crap, and it is really unfair to blame the loses on him when they were more attributable to poor QB play than anything else.
