Cricket is more boring. Women's basketball and softball are more boring. Oh and don't forget water polo, diving, and synchronized swimming.

Still leaves us swimming and synchronized diving as more exciting.

baseball is a very cerebral game. I can understand certain people not liking it.

Baseball is boring. I'd rather watch golf. Regardless, both are great to fall asleep to.

like how all those people that don't care about baseball spend so much time telling everyone else they don't care about baseball. Some even take the time to start threads about it.

Well, I mean that's kind of what happens on discussion boards. People give there opinions quite often. I'd say you're probably too defensive.

Curious as to when the last time that any bama ranter here went to any other sporting event on a regular basis.
I've been to over 80 UA basketball games. Since the last time I went to a baseball game, I've been to a few UA club hockey games, a gymnastics meet, 4 NHL games, and a USMNT game.

Baseball is much better when steroids are involved. Maybe shorten the game by a hr. What's that 1 inning?

Anyone who threads that college golf or soccer etc is more entertaining than college baseball has a suck arse team. And since they can't compete with the rest they want to change the subject. SEC baseball is awesome, period!

I didn't even enjoy watching our team when we were good.

I would watch a lot of Summer Olympics sports over baseball.

The game is too slow, but one of my main gripes is with the "code" stuff with regard to ridiculous the unwritten rules.

The problem is more ingrained than that.

Baseball in its current state has become a bastardized version of what it used to be, especially as it pertains to pace of play.

Seriously, go watch a game on YouTube from the 70s -- there's no multiple practice swings after each pitch, no stepping out of the box between pitches and constantly readjusting gloves and sweatbands. It's unreal how much more rapid the pace was between pitches and batters.

Kids grow up watching A-Rod readjust his gloves after every pitch or David Ortiz put the bat under his shoulder and spit in his hands and clap, and they emulate that slow pace of play.

you don't know baseball then do you? what'd you play, little league? baseball is a game of detail. the mental aspect of what's going on with the signs, the position on the rubber the pitcher takes, the pitch location, the pitch itself being catered to the situation and to the individual hitter, the defense location, etc. every play contains an amazing amount of details. watch the defense as the ball is released; every player on the d is moving and has a set place to be depending on where the ball is hit.

baseball takes years to learn how to play. to the uninitiated, it is boring. it is boring because the casual watcher, who has never played at a high level, doesn't know what the frick is going on. he just watches the ball.

OK you shared your opinions - here's mine. The ONLY sport more entertaining to me than baseball is college football.
