Even when Alabama beat us 25-0 in 2013, we didn't "quit playing."
I just don't get his argument. Outside of Vandy or scrub directional schools, everyone generally plays hard against one another.
This. It's not like suddenly teams have discovered our secret that we can lose, and now more teams are going to beat us because of that discovery. By in large, even the less competitive games still looked like the players were competing hard. The last time I remember an SEC team genuinely quitting against us was 2012 Auburn, and they had a lot of other shite going on.

That worked well for South Carolina last season.
Unfortunately true. We seem to do better when we are overlooked, though. I can understand the polls losing all confidence the previous several yrs had begun to establish with the shite show that was last year.
I wanted to go on a murderous rampage when I got to #20. frick clemson.

I find the Auburn optimism in all of these polls very curious. The team lost 5 games, and lost its QB, RB, and a top WR. I think everyone under estimates the loss of Nick Marshall, and his ability to run the ball.
Further, returning starters to a bad defense is not exactly a recipe for success, Muschamp notwithstanding.

This will be Nick Saban's tallest rebuilding task in several years, as the Tide will have a new quarterback (Jake Coker?) and no Amari Cooper or any other established receiver, no T.J. Yeldon, no Landon Collins and no Trey DePriest. Of course, when you recruit the nation's No. 1 class every single year, you're not likely to fall far. The D-line should be fantastic.
What? It's like they don't know anything about Alabama. This past season was clearly the tallest rebuilding task and needing a new QB has never been an issue for Saban's Alabama teams. The RB position will be stronger than this past season and the wide receivers will be fine.

Back to the list -- how is MSU not ranked? Granted, I don't know what they're losing to graduation and the draft, but they get Prescott back and just won 10 games. Surely they deserve a spot somehwee in the top 25.
