Jim Fyffe

a side note on jim fyffe...

jim fyffe's gravesite is close to one of my family's burial sites at greenwood cemetary in montgomery.

almost everytime i have driven by his site, i have seen orange & blue shakers by his grave.

i find this a fantastic tribute to mr. fyffe and think that he would love the fact that he has not been forgotten and that he made such an impact on the au program that people not only remember him, but want to honor him.

there has been a lot of debate about the gheyness of shakers on this forum...but, ya know, they are much less tacky than orange/blue plastic flowers and certainly represent football, school spirit & everything that jim fyffe loved.

i think he would have loved the tribute and laughed at the inconruity/yet perfectness of shakers/pom poms in a cemetary at the last resting site of a man who loved college football.

FWIW I like the guy that calls the games for Arkansas now. There are a lot of stations in South Arkansas that are in range in North Louisiana. But the color commentator guy is aweful

Grew up listening to John Ward, when we could hear him. I was in Atlanta and a UT fan.

I'm pretty positive that some of his calls of a touchdown: he's to the 5, 4, 3, 2, 1. Pause. Is he in? Pause. Yes. He. Is. ended after the extra point had been kicked and they were lining up for the kickoff.

Also, became a big fan of Munson. Not so much from listening to UGA, but the time he spend doing the Falcons games. I've never heard an announcer so emotionally invested in the outcome of a game. He always gets so nervous: "Look at that stupid clock, there are 452 seconds left in the game and that stupid clock just seems to be stopped. Somebody make it start running again."

Al Ciraldo from Ga Tech was another good one that I used to enjoy listening to growing up. He just had a voice made for radio.

Pete, Skip, Don and Joe were great to listen to.
