Yep. It's all about generating clicks and magazine sales with the preseason deals. They are useless. I am just glad the playoff has somewhat removed their impact on the championship.

I don't disagree with the comment on RB, WR, and defense but I'd put us around #15 in preseason rankings because who knows what is going to show up at QB. I'd definitely put UGA ahead in the #10 range as far as preseason goes.

Preseason polls are supposed to be about how they'll finish, not how they'll start.

We're not even pre-season ranked this season, not one poll I've seen so far and rightfully so IMHO.
And in 2012 we were preseason #11 and finished #9 so I don't understand your bitching.

In all honesty, there shouldnt' be preseason polls. There are just SO many question marks on each team. You could have a team ranked abotu 20th that is a legit title contender and a team ranked top 3 that sucks. Just let everyone play 4 games and the first week in October come out with the rankings. None of this "oooh, well team A is legit and should be top 3, but they started unranked so now they have to keep climbing!". Just see how good everyone ACTUALLY is then rank accordingly.

I've always thought this too. Being ranked gives you a weight based on nothing more than conjecture

Naw, but thanks for your opinion. Sorry if I don't think UT has done anything to be ranked going into the season, I mean for christs sake we hear how much we suck all the time on the rant. Last time we were ranked was going into the 2102 UF game, and we all know how that turned out. I want to earn that little number next to our name.
If we barely miss out for the playoffs this season, I think we will have done pretty good for ourselves.

It strikes me as EXTREMELY odd whenever I see an American suggesting that the press be censored somehow. I just don't get where this comes from, or even how someone would even think of it.
The media are basically corporations that make money by selling news and opinions. If their news and opinions keep selling, they keep publishing them. How could someone who reads their news and opinions just decide that the corporation should just 'stop' publishing them? Wouldn't it make FAR more sense for the consumer to just stop reading news and opinions that they don't want to read?
I mean, really, WTAF?
