Ridiculous - under this system Alabama's Natty does not qualify for big 6. Does a #5 National Rating not qualify as a big 6 SEC?

Here is the deal - A&M is about to be a monster. So Bama, LSU. and Fla. - you have dibs on ragging on Aggies.

To the rest - A&M is going to start raping you on the field, regularly, and you are going to like it - or you will be unhappy. Cuz its going to happen.

BTW - Ark is Texas Tech. It doesnt matter if you have a good year, nobody cares -you are Arkansas. You could win the Natty and people would go meh. No passion. There is no hate and venom with you guys. With the Aggies there is already delicious hate. JFF and the Aggies are the show this year - win or lose - and that is fun. Ark game is like the Tech game in big 12 - well even if they beat us who cares - its tech.

cgsc - my point is no one cares. LSU and the SEC is thumping ark. out of the rivalry week even though they have done pretty damn well against LSU. It just no one cares. Like Tech.

A little history lesson about A&M.

As a MIlitary school, A&M had very different mindset on football. Of course they wanted to win, but there were not even girls at the school until relatively recently. It was just a military school trying to field a team. Then the growth of A&M came along and a&m decided it wanted to win. So A&M hired Jackie Sherill away from Pitt. It was a HUGE deal that "Texas A&M" could lure a coach in his prime away from Pitt. Result - A&M kicks complete arse for quite some time. LSU included in that along with Texas.

Probation - Sherill has to go. RC comes into a coaches gold mine. The Wrecking Crew D is so good Houston with Ware scored like 9. This team had Kevin Smith, Aaron Gleen, Sam Adams, Coryatt(#2 overall) england etc.. It was the best D I have ever seen.

Then - A&M TOOK Fran fro Bama. I know it did not turn out well - but Bama wanted to keep him and A&M took him. It was a statement. It didnt work out - but ZERO Bama fans thought there was even a tiny chance Fran would leave Bama where he was beloved and choose A&M over bama. It happened.

But - basically - the problem over the years is that the old Ags are a different breed. LSU, Bama, Ga, Fla, would have fired RC - because he had more talent than anyone and only beat up on SWC depleted teams. Then tanked all bowl games. A&M kept him while he had MNC talent and would lose to Tulsa to stay out of MNC game. The Ags loved him. He would have been eaten alive in BR.

Aggies have wondered for years why A&M doesnt run the program as it should be run. Take advantage of the money and support and rabid fans and recruiting territory and not embrace mediocrity.

Well - The new leadership - known as Bowtie - has changed the game. Black unis, Branding, New awesome young coach, swagger, splash, JFF , you name it - the new administration kicked out the 3 yds and a could of dust crowd that thought going back in time would bring in the recruits. The old Military crowd. God bless them - is finally gone. They can go smoke a cigar with RC and talk about SWC championships over SMU.

A&M has always been known to be a school that underachieves, right? Does less with more? right?

Well that has changed. A&M is about to do more with more - and if you guys dont think A&M is in the top 6...

Tiger Live - read my post. A power struggle at A&M kept the school from acting in its best interests. Older Ags with money decided going old school while america was going Oregon was the best bet. That is why we didn't dominate the big 12. But this is a different era in every sense of the word. Our coach is already being used against us with recruits because the NFL wants him. Recruits are banging down the door. A&M has never recruited nationally and we pull #1 QB in the Nation from the West Coast. Top WR out of Ga. WE are molesting Texas and OU now in recruiting and obviously on he field. We will have the best stadium in the SEC and Texas.

Props go to SEC royalty. LSU, Bama, Fla. and Ga. I love Tenn. and UT is a historic program - but been down a while - but will be back. Auburn? Good Lord Man - War Eagle. That is so gay. The Scam Newton is awesome. Chizik fro a 1-10 Iowa St. team - wonder why that was the hire??

But I think it is arguable that A&M is in. If you just go by SEC - A&M is 5th in conference in the sense that Bama was 3rd in conference last year.

Otherwise A&M was #5 in Country year one. You cant call A&M fifth in conference without calling Bama 3rd in Conference Natyy year.]

A&M has a long way to go to get the depth. but they are getting it. and spending $$$$. Ags are going to be top 5 in 2-3 years consistently. we are there now because of JFF primarily.
