If we allow you to present SWC records before the council then tFlagship's jimmies will be really rustled leading to Admiral Bielima to defend their honor over the twitterz

It isn't our fault we won more conference titles than the Flagship. I wish that wasn't the case, but it is.

It is easy to identify the Big 6 simply by the SEC championship game victory criteria, but I have always noticed another clear factor that separates those same 6 from everyone else in the SEC. All 6 pass the "eye test." Those 6 have much larger stadiums than the rest, larger and more passionate fan bases than the rest, recruit at a consistently high level more than the rest, etc. Using the "eye test" criteria, I think aTm belongs because they have the same look and feel as the other Big 6 programs do.
As an example of why Big 6 membership should not be based on SEC title game wins alone, let's pretend that Cam Newton signed with MSU and did the same thing for them that he did for Auburn. Would MSU really belong in the same category as the Big 6 schools?
aTm Big 6 application: ACCEPTED
(no need to change the name to Big 7 since the Big 10 has 14 schools and the Big 12 has 10)

GTFO. Until they win the SEC they will be in the basement with Arky, USCe, Miss State, Mizzou, and Ole Miss.

It's not just winning 1 random SEC title but winning multiple SEC titles over several decades and also having Charter member status that differentiates tBG6 from the others *Cam going to MSU still would not have placed them in this discussion
By rights of heridity, this would make Ole Miss the next school up

The last time a team other than one of the Big Six won an SEC championship in football was Ole Miss in 1963.
If the Aggies win the SEC next season, it would be the first time in FIFTY YEARS that a school outside the Big Six won it.

I'm not saying it's done now, but what if Auburn has another losing season and A&M wins the SEC? Do you vote them in/out then?
Texas A&M's trajectory isn't descending anytime soon.

^This. We are a tradition bound conference and one year or looks alone aren't going to earn respect let alone a place at the table. However, unlike your old conference which seemed to revolve around that school in Austin as well as hating your conference mates at all times rather than the SEC's camaraderie/us against the outside world when we're not playing one another, you can earn your place. There's no glass ceiling to keep you from it.

So you want to kick out a team that won the SEC and a national title 4 years ago?

Back to the original question:
As far as titles, the A&M team that won the title in 1998 did so by beating the #2 (Nebraska), #19 (Texas Tech), #13 (Missouri), and #1 (Kansas State) teams in the same season; losing only to eventual BCS runner up Florida State, the Heisman trophy winner, and an Ohio State team that, without a colossal frick-up against Michigan State, takes their first of THREE title game losses to SEC schools.
