It's a good question. Honestly I was expecting more pull your hair out moments, and we have had very few. We get a good pushing rushing most often and protection is a lot easier when your QB can scramble. That said, Hurts has been blindsided twice and fumbled both times.

I'm hoping with the zone schemes and a healthy dillon gordon we stand a better chance of getting to the line of scrimmage untouched more than last year

If we do that, the NCAA will pop us.

Moore, the FB is who you're thinking of.

But yes, having BOTH Moore and Gordon (TE) out last year hurt a TON.

They're pretty good, and I think it helps that we got a good look at some of Aranda's weird stunts and blitzing last year. I'm more concerned about how well JH picks up on some of that.

Short Answer: Good and getting better.

Holes are starting to open up more. Cam still seems to have a little trouble with elite DE talent, but he's doing OK. Our right tackle is a real surprise as to how he is doing for someone so young.

With an extra week to prepare for what LSU is going to throw at them, they'll be good to go.

Really starting to gel. The running game has been the focus of late and they have been getting it done. Pretty solid on pass protection most of the time too.

I like it. Them boys are big, fast, strong and mean. Cam isn't playing like an All-American but he is playing well. I love this line.

I'm hoping we can implement some nice blitz packages that Bama hasn't seen us run before with the extra week. We were pretty basic against Wisconsin, but we have seen more and more as the season has gone on.

Yes, they faced some decent offenses (looked stout against Auburn), but not the quality of offensive line Alabama will bring.

Alabama is similar. For all the elite pass rushes in the league there seems to be a soft underbell on most of them.

We got a mess on oline.

Had to shuffle around players to find a decent C, starting RG has been concussed for 2 weeks, starting a freaking truefrosh at RT. LT is gun toting pot head.

I'm prepared for Tigah's to feast.

Thanks for the knowledgeable responses and insight.

One match up no one is really talking about but that I am really looking forward to is OJ Howard vs Jamal Adams on passing plays. Jamal passed test one vs Engram last week (although helps when you don't even have to worry about playing the run ) and still has the other two best tightends in the conference in the next two matchups. His pass coverage has gone from a weakness to a strength this year. Kid is a stellar db.

OJ has been used a lot more in drags and out of the back field than down the field, mainly because of Hurts being young and typical tight end routes being dangerous. We run a lot of fake hand off motion the other way flip into the flat stuff, which sounds simple to defend but when you are having to key QB and RB you can easily lose a step.

Gonna be a fun game. Athletes everywhere. As always.
