I just watched parts of last nights game on Espn Watch. I love our own Jim Ellis and give kudos to other great sports announcers like LSU's Jim Hawthorne etc (who has retired)

But I must confess, those two guys doing play-by-play for SC were pretty damn good. Not the great voices you would expect for a school but very knowledgeable of the game.

Pitch-by-pitch they were incredible and (whoever is you main guy) was spot on every pitch.

That was one of the best called games I ever heard. Nice job SC, that was very well done.

Are you talking about the radio guys? Derek Scott is the new PBP for basketball and baseball. His voice is awful, but I do agree that he's pretty knowledgeable and does his research. The color analyst is Tommy Moody. He's a former player from the 1970's, and is as big of a Gamecock homer as you'll ever find. I've met and had lunch with Tommy, and he honestly lives for Gamecock baseball.

Tommy Moody is the one with the freakish trivia knowledge on the morning radio show, right? I think he knows the stats of every Gamecock athlete.

secn+ crew - Burch Antley pbp & Trey Dyson color.

Antley's West Columbia born & bred. graduated Batesburg-Leesville High. attended USC, graduated Newberry. he called Batesburg-Leesville HS football on radio forever.

Burch started doing radio at WBLR in Batesburg SC at age 15. this is a funny listen for Gamecocks who haven't heard much about Burch and his career path. talks about his time at Carolina & how he finished his degree at Newberry.

Trey's from Columbia too. played for Ray. 2002 SEC male scholar athlete of the year.

it was a bad time for South Carolina teams in the old North state this past week - Conway got dumped at Wake Forest 19-9, Columbia was a no-show in Charlotte.

As a Conway native and resident, this must be a joke. We have 2 titles to Coastal's 1. Not to mention the other Omaha appearances throughout the past 5 decades.

Before Coastal's title run last year, they couldn't get more than a few hundred people to games. When we beat them in Myrtle Beach in the Supers in 2010, there were more Gamecocks there than Chanticleers.

Coach Gilmore has done wonders with that program, but it's still second fiddle to USC.

Tommy learned well from Mr. Tom Price, our late SID and baseball color man. He was a wealth of knowledge about Gamecock athletics.

If you're talking about ESPN Watch games, then you're talking solely about Antley and Dyson. Moody and Scott that some posters are talking about are solely radio broadcast announcers...
