All you need to know is that the new coaching staff at USCe took over a UF program than won the NC 2 out of 3 years. Muschamp and crew took over had a decent first year (tanked the bowl) then fell off a cliff.

The last couple of years USCe has been pretty bad Spurrier basically quit recruiting the last few years and the said frick it all.

So you hired a guy that could not run a program that was in decent shape when he got it. He came to AU to fix the D and statistically got worse. It did improve, only after Carl Lawson came back from injury.

The question is if Muschamp can't run an established program with great recent history will he be able to rebuild one that is a dumpster fire and has no history?

I have a better one about Phil Fulmer. First hand information, but I'm not going to type it all out today. Ask me again in the Spring. I promise you'll love it.

Bonus - once you hear it you'll definitely be glad Fulmer is no longer the coach.

Whatever it is, it will not surprise me.

The man had Skyler Morningwheg and Treon Harris, Brent Pease caused more damage for Muschamp than Roper ever did. Pease didn't recruit a QB, and Roper averaged 12 more points a game than Pease did. Pease caused Boom his job, Pease was calling the plays for his 4-8 team that lost to GSU.

Not saying Roper is a great hire, but if you look at what happened, the blame for Florida's lack of offense isn't all on Roper, its more on Pease (who just got fired as WR coach by his old boss) Look at UF's 2013 season, Pease started okay and then he got figured out. UF barely scored a touchdown in the last half of the season after the newness wore off.

Again, not saying its a homerun hire, but I dont think its as bad as it seems. The man had one year at UF with no QB and did much better than the guy he preceded him, with a tougher schedule.

I'm very confused about all of this. All the gamecock fans I know hated the idea of this hire--a week or two before it took place. Now, they are getting on board with it.

I suppose it's all aboard the Boomtanic while it coasts down de-Nile.

What do you want us to do? Stop being fans? Most of us are not excited about the hire, but it is what it is.

I never posted that I hated the idea. Not once.

SC fans are excited because we have a coach that will work harder than any coach we have had in the last 20 years. I know this board loves Spurrier, and I am appreciative of what he accomplished here, but I don't know if outside fans really know the country club atmosphere that was surrounding our program and recruiting. Our coaches were working 40 hour weeks and resting on those 3, 11 win seasons. If I have to hear Spurrier talk about winning 11 games again, or talk about how his staff doesn't work that much I'll puke.

I guarantee this, you will never here Boom say "7-5 is pretty good around here" after being pre-season top 10 and getting crushed by your rival and losing 3 games with 14 point leads in the 4th quarter.

You don't know what you're talking about. Seriously. Almost none of what you typed is true.

I am excited about Boom.

We will see what happens.

Say what you want about him, but clearly the guy is intelligent enough to get hired by Saban and Mack Brown and Jeremy Foley. He obviously wants to win, so if Roper is the guy, let's see what happens.

re: Why the Muschamp hate(Posted on 5/5/15 at 1:59 pm to AU24)
Because he could not win at UF and the NFL draft showed that it was not due to lack of talent. He is overrated. Sorry if that hurts your feelings. Intensity doesn't mean he is a good coach.

We weren't looking for a coach then. We got turned down by Herman and Smart.. who should we have got?

Plus, weren't we talking about Roper, not Boom?

Well if that story is true, it simply says Fulmer had no clue about how to coach a football team.

Which sorta makes me doubt its veracity.

In our defense, I don't think we have a #2 running back anymore.

Of course you don't have a running back in your defense. They play on the offense.

You big dummy.

This. Maybe we will be pleasantly surprised. Who really knows?
