Scrappers, loaded with Sr.'s and Jr.'s, big win's on the resume, owned their conference. More than any other sport, Baseball is about talent AND team work, can't just brute strength your opponent.

LOL.

The sole reason people care about baseball stats is because it IS a very individual sport.

Yeah, Randy Johnson's strike out records were very dependent on the left fielder's play.

How do you reach that conclusion? The only part of the game that involves any team work at all is fielding. Pitching and batting are totally individual. In football, every play requires nearly all 11 people on both sides of the ball (sometimes a receiver or DB gets a play off). In basketball, soccer, and hockey everyone is doing something at all times except during stoppages. Baseball is literally the least team oriented team sport.

I didn't reach that conclusion. I quoted and disagreed with that conclusion.

It can even be argued that a cross country team is a more team oriented sport than baseball.

Does this mean their cheerleaders are hookers and underage drinkers?

South Alabama has always fielded good baseball teams. They will make it to Omaha eventually.

baseball definitely team sport. Don't believe me? A pitcher like a football QB depends on others around him to make his stats look good, which in turn leads to team wins, i.e. receivers must make great catches, blocking the rusher and so on, you get the idea. Okay, baseball now. A pitcher has good stats because of great fielding and great hitting by his team much more often that a pitcher throwing nothing but strikeouts and over powering batter after batter. This is the general case over a season.

To be fair, I didn't see Coastal winning it all last year either.

Randy Johnson wouldn't have won a game if it weren't for teamwork between him and the catcher.
