Moser is from Chicago, part of why it took so long for someone to pry him from Loyola . Some were surprised he left even for a high profile job like ou

Maybe he got homesick and wants to go back to Chicago

Yet one of worst Arkansas basketball teams in 25 years still swept Missouri.

I don't think he is as much homesick as that he would rather go back to Chicago than wait around and get fired from OU later on and not having a job in Chicago as an option.

I remember DePaul under Ray Meyer being elite growing up. You would think they would see the money now in NCAA basketball, and pony up to restore that.

Yep...remember watching those games on WGN. Mark Aguire, Kenny Patterson, Rod Strickland. They were my favorite team when I was kid.

Y'all should be looking for a new coach after losing the last 7 in a row to Texas

Oof…Guessing there isn’t much of a commitment in Norman to upgrade basketball facilities? Losing Moser to a program like DePaul isn’t a very good look entering the SEC.

Maybe OU will take Arkansas coach.

Norman is a little town in the middle of nowhere. Some people prefer a more happening place, like Chicago

However the idea that the LNC couldn't host HS events is ridiculous. It has all the ambiance of a 1970s bomb shelter but it is functional.

This is from the Tulsa World….

Soulless arena, but a special day for BA
Mar 7, 2024

NORMAN — It's always baffling that a university with world-class facilities like Memorial Stadium and Love's Field is content to have unsightly Lloyd Noble Center as its home for basketball. Before anyone at the University of Oklahoma says, "Well, we really aren't content with the LNC," I would counter that they've had many years to do something about it. OU is a football-softball school that soon will drag a sub-standard arena to the Southeastern Conference. For the third consecutive year – and, hopefully, for the final time – the most important Oklahoma high school basketball games are played in this soulless building.

Before 2022, the 6A and 5A state tournaments were played for 12 years at Oral Roberts University's Mabee Center. The Oklahoma Secondary School Activities Association awarded the 2022-24 championship contract to OU. ORU's bid for a new contract was doomed, it was explained in November 2021, because of an issue involving digital ticket fees. Since 2019, the University of Central Oklahoma's Chad Richison Stadium has hosted Oklahoma prep football championship games. Edmond now feels like the forever home of football title games, and I'm OK with that. UCO has invested heavily in its stadium, which is perfectly sized (12,000 capacity) and has nice amenities for fans and teams. This should be the forever situation: championship football each December in Edmond, and 6A-5A championship basketball each March at ORU. In April, the OSSAA conducts a bid process for the next basketball championship contract. Presumably, it's another three-year deal. Presumably, ORU submits a bid. Whatever the issue was with ORU's digital tickets – someone needs to get that fixed ASAP. While the recently renovated Mabee Center is better than ever, OU's Lloyd Noble Center is a terrible place for high school basketball.

Norman is practically a suburb of Oklahoma City and there is a lot happening here for the better. Chicago is a dump with a lot of crime.

What’s going to happen with the Thunder and them wanting a new arena? Current arena is super nice, or was the last time I was there a year or so ago.

OKC approved a $1B new stadium. Should be open in 29.

Maybe they can move the current one to Norman (no kidding, I saw some people actually think that was possible lol).

Trivia. The wife of Thunder HC is an assistant for the OU Women's gymnastics team.

Norman is a city of 128,000 that essentially makes up the southern end of a metro of 1.5 million people.

"Middle of nowhere" is debatable... but it isn't a "little town" by any standard. The nice thing about it is that around campus... it does feel like a small town.

Um......Moser hasn't exactly set the world on fire since he was hired. If he leaves, he leaves.
