LSU fans will bitch until the SEC HQ, Sugar Bowl, SEC title game, basketball tournament and baseball tournament are in New Orleans. Then they will bitch that they never get to travel anywhere fun, and that the commissioner did not attend LSU.

I'd bet over half the people that bitch in these threads have never bothered to attend a college baseball game, let alone the tournament

I believe this is exactly why this thread pops up. If it rotated, more people could attend. In Metairie, I would easily be able to go to some games. I would also be willing to travel to Memphis for the tournament, but the only time I ever want to go to Hoover, or Birmingham, is driving through.

you're gonna have a hard time getting 4000 fans period for most games that take place during the workday.
People are not going to drive hundreds of miles to watch a single elimination game, with the possibility of seeing only one game. They will starting with the double elimination starting tomorrow. Average session attendance last year was close to 7,000. First day is low and weekends are higher. But, with rain delays, extra inning games, etc., I can't imagine the cluster going on downtown Birmingham, Memphis or wherever, if those leaving the first session are going the same time the 2nd session are coming. It's a cluster at Hoover even with designated parking. Anyone that denies that has not been to the tournament during the week.

ETA - I predict this year's attendance being way down with Ole Miss eliminated and MSU not making it at all.

Has a conference tournament ever been played in a park that is home to a minor league team? There are plenty of fine stadiums around the South but is a minor league team willing to let their park be used for 6 days?

Hoover comes to mind. ACC is at Durham Bulls' stadium.
