This is a win-win, either Ole Miss gets slapped down hard and if not, it is open season on violating any NCAA rule you want based on precedent.

Oh hell yeah! This may finally open they door for you straight laced Hogs to join on the Wild West cheating wagon.

The lawsuit will come from boosters, not the University. I don't think anyone wants this to happen.

A university can't take the ncaa to court. Some of you guys should educate yourselves. An individual can do it but no guys, Ole Miss won't be going to court.

So the Boosters who are fighting to keep their names redacted and keep the NOA sealed are planning to sue the NCAA, and allow the whole thing to go public? The NCAA didn't disassociate the Boosters, Ole Miss did.

I admit I'm confused on this thing. While I commend Ole Miss for going all Missio "Middle Fingers in the Air" in their defense strategy of the NOA, I just don't see how Ole Miss can skate on the Academic Fraud and the other half dozen Level 1's based on law suits from Booster's. Hell, y'all had 14 Boosters and up to 39 Student-Athletes named in this thing!

It amazes me that rebel fans continue to drink the Kool-aid. I mean they are going down with the ship. Hell, I guess as a die hard fan I would too.

Basically the boosters would be pissed that they are being drug through the mud based on LL's testimony. Based on the response to the NOA, it is shaky AT BEST and there is a really good chance it wouldn't hold up in court.

So basically they would take it to court, get that testimony thrown out and then say, what do you have now NCAA? Which it looks like they don't have anything else.

Not to mention 90% of the amended NOA is based off of LL's testimony. So if most if it gets thrown out, expect what we self imposed plus another slap on the wrist because there is nothing else there. (It would be like the draft night and everything that came after never happened.)

If boosters file a lawsuit then they'll have to turn over more info and be under oath, two things they didn't have to do in an NCAA investigation.

yeah. you're probably right. the boosters don't want it either.

I can't believe that I have to sign on, after hours, to explain this.

A court of law is nothing like Matlock.

If boosters sue the NCAA, it will have nothing to do with Ole Miss sanctions or any other institution. And any reference to any other institution will immediately be thrown out. You can't just stand up in court and demand answers that aren't pertainent to your specific case. GTFO if you have any inkling of a thought about any other school getting in trouble from OMs cheating.

One big issue with this case is the fact too many boosters were involved and Ole Miss tried to protect them. Not only protect them but were still keeping close ties with them. That is one giant no-no.

Except the LL testimony is Rock Solid. They are blowing smoke straight up your bung hole. They are hoping against hope. The mountain of corroborated evidence to back LL is ASTOUNDING! That response should scare the shite out of OM fans. You need to talk to impartial lawyers. Not OM scrub attorneys. People with nothing in the pot. They can tell you how bad it is.

Imo the main issue is OM can fight the LL story and maybe the NCAA backs down.

But what the NCAA can do, and probably will do is tell OM fine, we can't prove this or that. So because you gave us the finger we're going to hammer OM by adding more penalties/sanctions on top of the self imposed sanctions. This is our way (NCAA) of returning your gesture....but with interest on top.
