they essentially told the NCAA to frick off. whether they are better or worse off for doing so wont be known for another 3 months

They essentially told the NCAA yea we cheated but you don't have the hard evidence to justify the excess punishment.

I've been having fun sparring with the OM posters, but in truth nothing has changed. Ole Miss has been hinting all along that they were going to challenge certain allegations and it wasn't hard to figure which ones if you cared enough to read the NOA response from February.
It still comes down to what the COI is willing to believe and let go.
What's the time frame until the next real action in this case? Like 90 more days until OM has to officially present?

They are Ole Miss. Good, bad, all the same. We will see how the NCAA reacts to a "frick you" from them.
If they judged things right they get a slap on the wrist and move forward. If not... well... it would be interesting to see how a Death Penalty impacts the SEC.

Bama was compliant with Albert Means investigation and were destroyed. USC not compliant and destroyed. Hard to read the tea leaves based on history. If they want to make an example of OM they have enough to do it but who knows.

quote:Bingo. Which I am fine with. Why would anyone want a governing body that can just hand out punishments with no hard evidence?

They had text messages saying we paid one of our former players and they STILL couldn't find anything to charge us with what was being presented in those messages.

The rant posters, being the legal experts that they are, have completely read and thoroughly analyzed the 124pg response in little over an hour

Ole miss recruiting classes for 17 and 18 are a death penalty in themselves
Posted on 6/6/17 at 4:07 pm to GermantownTiger
Ole Miss:Freeze didn't do anything wrong and you have no evidence on most of the charges
NCAA:Here,hold my beer

We should have told them to phuck off 4 1/2 years ago.

I happen to agree, it seems cooperation just makes them feel justified in handing out more severe penalties
