It was discussed before and mentioned a few times. A ND fan didn't even correct me last time so I assumed it was accurate.

What happens when we assume? Makes an arse out of U and me. My bad.

Still. On a yearly basis we have guys put up better numbers.

If Peterson, dorsey or TM didn't win heisman, than he shouldn't either. And that's just LSU the coveted defensive heisman shouldn't be given anywhere outside of the sec until someone puts up better numbers. A sob story should not win the heisman.

Maybe you should look up some mock drafts.

Eddie Lacy was a freshman in that game too. Bama gave him the ball 5 times.

here are the stats for you:

Bell - 4 carries, 13 yards, 0 Tds
Lacy - 5 carries, 86 yards, 2 Tds

Sure. Lets forget the fact that they have different offensive lines, going against different caliber defenses, etc.

2012 stats.

Bell - 350 carries, 1648 yards, 11 Tds
Lacy - 184 carries, 1182 yards, 16 Tds

Bell is a great running back. A lot of people have him second in the draft behind the kid from North Carolina.

Georgia being ranked lower in rushing defense is kind of a misleading stat.

They played Ga Southern and Georgia Tech who both run the triple option offense and they may throw a max of 10 passes a game

ND also played Navy, triple option.

I would be misleading you if I said ND's is much better when it's 10-20 spots. Then you could maybe factor in things like competition. When the gap is 75 spots, there is no "misleading".

And if you still say that's misleading, if you look at yards per rush instead of rushing yards per game, which allows you to not worry about how often a team runs per game when trying to compare, ND allows 3.16 yds per rush, while UGA allows 4.10 yds per rush NEARLY A FULL YARD MORE PER RUSH.

There are a lot of people trying to justify or make excuses here for UGA in comparison to ND. It's really simple. UGA's rushing defense is not good, ND's is great. There are a lot more areas to the game that will determine Jan. 7's outcome than ND's rushing defense, but in this case, which is what we're talking about, that's just the truth.

Is that coming from the Bunker? Just exchange the teams and you have it.

I'm glad ND fans have hope--on the surface, but deep down they know their team is going to be utterly, completely, and brutally destroyed in Miami.

But hey, they are just happy for a reason to take their pasty white asses south and enjoy a little sun.

They have to believe they have a chance in hell of winning to justify they expense of the vacation.

Thats one triple option team. Georgia played two. And they were ranked in the 60's before the game yesterday vs Bama.

Has ND faced any rbs as good as Yeldon, lacy, lattimore, gilleslie (Florida rb)?

Texas was ranked number one in the country in rushing defense in 09 with Muschamp as the def coordinator.

I think Ingram and Richardson had 100 yds each in that game

Anyway you will find out soon enough

Bell is an OK RB. OK at best by SEC standards. SEC teams are so stacked at a position like RB that the RBs never put up the numbers like Bell or Montee Ball because they have to share the ball. Is Bell better than a healthy Lattimore, Lacy, Yeldon, Jeremy Hill, Hillard, Alfred Blue, Gillislee, Gurley, etc? Hell no.

Ok. Let's look into those stats.

1 INT vs Navy. A FR and JR have combined for 138 attempts on the year. Spectacular.

2 INT vs Michigan. Bama also played Michigan. It's clear who was dominate against them.

1 INT vs BYU. A QB who has a 13 to 12 TD/INT ratio.

1 INT vs OKIE. Solid INT from a decent QB. Congrats.

1 INT vs BC. They average 38.9 passes per game. 17 to 13 TD to INT ratio. 54% passer.

1 INT vs USC. Freshman backup QB ring a bell?

Through all of that, he had a grand total of 35 return yards too. Whooo weee. Poor ole Bama only managed 3 INT's from the LB position and a measly little TD.

One of my favorite memories in college football is the beating LSU put on ND back in 2007(?). I remember hearing about how great ND was and how LSU wasnt going to match up with the tall, white receiver ND had. Then the game started and LSU went in dry.

Ok that doesn't exactly make the case for Bell being better than Lacy.

Yeldon - 154 carries, 1000 yards, 11 Tds

The difference between Alabama and everyone else that Notre Dame has played is on the OLine and DLine. This game won't be as close as some people hope.

Combined stats for Lacy/Yeldon

338 carries, 2182 yards, 27 Tds

Still 12 fewer carries than Bell.

You don't think a lot of factors such as offensive line, quality of quarterback, go into effect? Most NFL scouts consider Bell the best or second best back.

A&M is pretty close. A healthy LSU line is pretty close, but yeah, Wisconsin isn't close.

The argument is that Notre Dame stopped a running back that was better than anyone Bama has on their roster. Last time I checked, Lacy and Yeldon won't be running behind Michigan State's O-line. So it is fairly obvious that you take that into account.

Lacy and Yeldon have better numbers than Bell. Notre Dame hasn't faced a rushing attack anything like what they will see in Miami.

Holy frick. They've actually convinced themselves that the shite they've played is of superior quality.

Ladies and gentlemen who have Notre Dame logos beside your names, this is what you're hoping for.
