Mississippi State is a founding member of the SEC, but I don’t think that would matter when money is the driving factor

I will be pissed if they dump Ms St, SCAR, or Ark. They would really make me consider not watching anymore. I would understand if they dumped Vandy, they don’t even try.

Looks like ole Miss, Miss. state and Vandy are goners.

The Ole Miss brand has grown significantly over the past 12 years. Plus we are a legit playoff contender this year and have one of the leading NIL collectives. Add in that our baseball is 1 year removed from a national championship and pretty much everyone agrees that basketball is going to do really well under Beard.

There's only 7 teams with more NY6 games under their belt than us in the playoff era.

You're thinking of us like we are still in the 90s. Shove off.

That post has more to do with the group of 5 teams and the leftover PAC 2 than it does with any P4 teams.

The B1G and SEC are throwing their weight around to push out the other conferences. Y'all are misreading this.

I don't see the SEC or B1G dropping anyone. For the SEC, it violates the bylaws.

Sorry to call you out on this but you do not know what you are talking about. A&M is one of the top three or four schools in this conference when it comes to earnings for the conference. The schools who could possibly get dumped are the ones who do not earn their keep.

Make no mistake, this is about money.

IMHO, I doubt anybody gets dumped. They have signed a contract.

This would be stupid for many reasons… didn’t Mississippi and Mississippi State just B2B each other in the CWS?

Arkansas, Vanderbilt, Maryland, Purdue, and Miss St. are on the chopping block.

I know how Snakey treats A&M like a third rate institution. I know how Texas is getting favorable treatment as usual. And the stories about A&M looking around continue to circulate by the burnt orange media.

I also know business, and I have very little doubt that Snakey has told our admin feel free to look around. We don’t want or need you. Will A&M leave, doubt it. But the addition of the conference destroyers was purposely kept from A&M. That tells me all I need to know about where we stand …

Also, if the SEC/B1G break away I would be fine with joining the “dregs” and maybe being part of an actual college sports conference once again. This new system is terrible

College sports is more than just ratings or the flavor of the week to the people that follow it. If they keep fricking with what isn't broke, they will break the machine for real.

This is what happens when TV execs in the Northeast who know nothing about/don't give a shite about college football run the sport.

Sounds like you are upset that A&M doesn't get "special" treatment. They are treated like everyone else (aside from Bama, of course). Texas will be no different and their fans will need to come to grips with just being one of the guys and not the leader of the pack.

Again... They aren't talking about dropping schools from conferences. They are talking about 2 or 4 conferences dropping the other conferences.

Don’t want special treatment. But I know I don’t trust the SEC leadership after their little stunt, and A&M doesn’t either. I don’t think A&M has a place in this new conference if we are honest.

There are plenty of large schools relegated to lower tiers and that is where I expect A&M to end up after the B1G/SEC form their own league.

Just fine with that.

I think you are smoking crack if you honestly think the SEC doesn't want to include A&M going forward. A&M's natural home is the SEC.

We will see. UCF is a huge school - I’m on the edges of the campus right now for business. I think schools like UCF are happier just playing sports. My daughter went to a D2 school, and the sports players there just loved playing the game and attending school for free.

I think college football is irrevocably ruined, and I would be fine with A&M leaving this rat race. The smaller schools are actually teams, and not a bunch of individual mercenaries with their hands out constantly.

Baseball programs also matter, and the Mississippi schools are fine for this reason.

They're not dumping SC

One of the fastest growing states in the country with no professional sports teams has absolutely no reason to worry.

Oh don’t you worry. We will butt frick in your own stadium this season. Everyone who isn’t a complete retard from the swamps of Louisiana knows the talent Ole Miss has this season.
