I would give anything to go back to the days when tailgating was sitting on a literal tailgate drinking Natty Light right out of the 12 pack.

Don't get Tennessee at number 1. Everyone did like me and just hangs out at Calhouns on the river. Too many parking garages and not much green space to tailgate.

That's not even close, at all to being anywhere near correct.

Calhouns on the river isn't even close to what 1/20th of the people do/go on game day for UT outside of some away fans who don't know where to go.

Anywhere behind the strip, out with the Vol Navy on the river, in the Fort at the block parties, or on top of G10 or the parking garages are where you want to be at.

tailgating in G10 is awful. it's a parking garage. the strip tailgating also sucks. the fort is ok. the best tailgating is at FIJI island and circle park until they rezoned it for that "pay to tailgate" BS

Obviously tailgating is subjective, but you'd really have to work hard to make a worse list. I mean, some of these aren't terribly off, I'm not going to gripe about Tenn being #1 when it probably isn't top 5 in the conference, but multiple Big 10 schools in the top 10? Ohio State, with awful tailgating, makes the list at all? TAMU, easily the worst tailgating for a major school in the conference, in the top 5?

Pretty bad.

It's all subjective and more importantly who you know. I'd rather go to the block parties at the Fort then anywhere off Frat Row. But that's just because it's more my taste. Different strokes

how weird it was.

How weird the word is or how you haven't used it since you were in your preteens? Also, I'm assuming you were talking about the Mississippi River when you were using it.

As soon as bleacherreport realizes no one wants to see a slide show for every list they come up with, they may generate more traffic. Until then, not clicking

Many schools have established traditions of having the home team walk through a crowd of fans on the way into the football stadium before each game. Auburn takes this to another level with its Tiger Walk. Thousands partake in this event, many of whom line the path with a belly full of smoked venison—one of many great dishes you can find in the tailgating village, a gathering that gets filled up with campers days before kickoff.

While I'm sure there are some who grill deer, it's weird to see this thrown in there like it's a staple of AU tailgating.

I'd rather tailgate by I-40 than tailgate by that grody Tennessee River.

Lucky for you, you can tailgate in a freight yard in Columbia

If you haven't tailgated in a freight yard in your cities industrial district then you never really tailgated at all.

I refuse to click through slideshows, especially on sites like BleacherReport. They make up those dumb lists just to get money per click
