The stadium is not on campus. Instant disqualification.

Yep, just have to put the grill out the roads that surround it.

Ive seen ppl doing gumbo with the pot/propane burner setup, philly cheesesteaks on a overtable hot plate, brats on small gas grills, etc.

Do you have to get a little creative due to the rules and close proximity of large oak trees? Yes

Is it dumb to act like you cant cook/grill anything in the grove? Yes.

eta: I love LSU's tailgating scene. It does have OM beat in certain aspects, I have no problem admitting that. They are both a blast

sorry bro, but a chicken finger plate from abners and a cooler of beer is not a tailgate, or a very weak one.

You give me a plate of chicken fingers and a cooler of beer and I am having a good time

I agree. I like LSU tailgaiting too. I'm not too much of a loser to admit that they are both different but fun. This is so stupid...

LSU/Bama/Ole Miss/UGA are the best I've been to. All are somewhat different which I like

So:

Ole Miss apparel choice = LSU tailgate cooked food

Two unique qualities, both great times. I find this a pointless endeavour. If you're at an SEC school on gameday and don't have a good time, chances are there's something wrong with you opposed to the tailgate.

When I was a student, I'd get up at like 2:30 the morning of the game. I'd start cooking/grilling the food. Then I would cook a big breakfast and take it to The Grove as well. Luckily I lived really close to campus so the food was always still hot when I got to the tent.

Well the bars close at midnight, so I guess there is nothing better to do in Oxford.

Only poors without access to a liquor cabinet in their air-conditioned suite are going to get excited about sitting outside sweating and drinking out of plastic cups.

That is, unless there is someone from south Louisiana cooking out there.

I think the A&M bonfires are cool. Why assume I was talking about the tragic one?

Even if the bars were open later than midnight, I wouldn't be at them.

Don't get Tennessee at number 1. Everyone did like me and just hangs out at Calhouns on the river. Too many parking garages and not much green space to tailgate.

Also. its really hard for me to rank tailgating scenes as it obviously depends on the tailgates at the schools themselves.

Ive honestly had a good time tailgating at every road SEC game. They all are a little different which is a good thing. They were all fun, but Baton Rouge wins because

1) Ive had the best food there(Jambalaya from a big cast iron pot) and 2) Two different LSU fans have gone out of their way to get me a ticket to the game(1 was a former LSU basketball player)
