For future reference, don't use Wiki.

The college football national champions page is extremely accurate and informative.

LSU was really struggling in the first half of the 2001 season. The Auburn game was moved to the last week. Auburn would have beaten LSU in September with the way LSU was playing. That means LSU never wins the SEC and the program isn't jump started into a power.

I was there. I remember it being cold as shite. We were soaked by the 2nd quarter. TS was already electric and when they jumped on the eye, you could feel the stadium shake. The onside kick set the pace and that was our turning point.

We rushed the field after, I snagged some dirt and had it framed with the Ticket stub from that game and the sugar bowl. The video is pretty bad arse. Esp the band coming into the stadium

There are selectors on there that either never existed or aren't recognized by the NCAA. Same thing with the CFDW. Only use the records book.

Tennessee was an 18 point underdog. Quite impressive win at the swamp. Travis Stephens ftw

As an Arkansas fan, I don't find these stats to be fun.

They finished 7-1 in conference play, along with LSU.

so what, can Florida claim the 2012 SEC title now? I mean they went 7-1 too. Is this just one of those things lower tier SEC programs (and Bama for national titles) do?

I understand that, but how big was legion field?

In 1992 and 1993 it seated about 10,000 more people than the Georgia Dome does now.

Probably already mentioned, but before 2012, Florida was the only team Alabama had ever faced in the SECCG. And it almost happened again in 2012.

Tennessee q beat Florida in 2001 entirely due to the game being moved to after the FSU game and Florida not having Earnest Graham due to a dirty play by Darnell Dockett.

The SEC actually does award a trophy for division "co-champions."
