1) LSU - LSU's offense looks relatively 1 dimensional at this point in the season but that's out of luxury, not lack of talent. LF7 is the truth and Guice is almost as scary. I've said it before, but Harrisiah is merely icing on the corndog at this point. If the defense continues to play well, the 4 year cycle looks to complete itself again this year.

2) Ole Miss - Speed kills, and the Rebs have it EVERYWHERE. Even Swag is a heck of an athlete, and I extremely underrated him based off his nickname and persona. There are athletes all over the defense and without Bo there to shite himself this year, I like Ole Miss in the remainder of their games save LSU.

3) Bama - 2 losses in a row to Ole Miss sounds bad, and is bad, but doesn't tell the entire story. Every ball that could bounce Ole Miss' way, did, and still Bama almost had enough to pull it out. I'm not sure they have an answer at QB on the current roster, but with the surrounding talent I still don't see them any worse than third in the west.

4) Aggy - The good and the bad news is the Aggy's have yet to play their best football. They had definitely peaked at this point last year, but there are still schematic improvements to make, as well as players playing on the field for the first time in Wk 3. The OL gels, and the defense plays it's 2-deep the entire game and the aggys can compete with anyone. Still haven't seen enough to call them favorites against any of the teams ranked above them.

5) State - Dak is Dak, the defense is serviceable, but I don't see the magic that last years team had. They played LSU tough once Les went his normal conservative self, but I don't think they surprise anyone like they did last year. With a dynamic QB like Dak they will be in a bunch of close games throughout the year, but I don't know if it's enough to topple any of the top 4 teams in the west this year.

Dead arse last A) Arky - Toledo? Tech? Terrible coach? The only team to talk more shite while doing less than my aggy brethren? It's a shite show in arkansas, and one that a lot of us outside tFlagship saw coming. Thanks for the lose-lose situation going into next week SWC bros, hope you liked what you saw from your team against tech. This week it gets worse.

Dead arse last B) Barn- That arse whooping at the hands of LSU showed why you go winless in SEC play this year. No heart on defense, people running AWAY from tackles, a QB that can't throw up without it getting intercepted, and a glorified HS coach. The wheels fell off against Jacksonville State, and they're not getting put back on any time soon with that coaching staff.

Someone pointed out on the Ole Miss board that Ole Miss has a BYE week before the LSU game. That's huge. I'd love for both teams to be undefeated going into that game but I think we slip up at least once somewhere.

LSU leads the standings, but I do think Ole Miss should be ranked higher at this point because they have the most impressive win. That being said, I think LSU will beat them again this year. We've got time to work out some kinks before playing Bama, Ole Miss, and A&M.

Here's to hoping it's against us

This is one of those games that a back and forth shootout is just as feasible as back and forth defensive shutout.

Yeah considering how y'all looked against state compared to when y'all played barn, it's scary that LSU is still improving.

Our game at the end of the year could be a great one if we do the same.

Bama has the potential to stuff LSU's run. I can't find anything to separate LSU/OleMiss/Bama if you're talking in terms of full season projections. Who avoids the injury bug very well may decide it.

I'm really not buying Auburn at 1-7 or worse.

LSU looked worse @AU last year than AU did this past Saturday. LSU managed to turn around and at least finish 4-4 in the SEC after starting 0-2. There's too much talent on that roster.

I hear you but just like the rest of us, they play in the SECw.
There is talent on EVERY team in the division. Their schedule does them no favors, and someone has to finish last.

Their QB was overrated, the defensive talent was either overrated or haven't responded to the coaching change fast enough... but either way, they have the most uphill climb in each divisional game imo.

ETA: this is only wk 4 of course, so anything can happen.

Good luck with your wishes...

How is Freeze after a bye anyway?

Because, I hope that Freeze gets shutout, like the year he had a bye before Bama and did not score a flicking point.. Seems like he netted 0 points with multiple trips inside the 10...could be a different game I am thinking of, he has a history of stupid shite.. Remember that interception he threw in FG range last.... We'll never mind you get the point.

Still a long way to go Sober but you're spot on, up to the moment. I still believe there's a lot of improvement to come for most teams so the finish line could be a bit different than what we see now. Good job.

I've come to like the bye week during an 9-3 or 8-4 type season and hate it when you're undefeated. I think you could lose momentum just having that week off and hearing your praises.

A good majority of football fans see the Ole Miss win more as "fortune" than complete dominance; that's probably why people see LSU slightly better than Ole Miss right now.
