That doesn't answer my question at all. College football prognosticators thought the Ole Miss loss was a death knell to Alabama when Ole Miss was thought to be a top five team, now, they are in the teens and Bama is thought to be a juggernaut. It is weird. It should be the other way around in my opinion. Bama should have gotten the benefit of the doubt much more when people thought Ole Miss was good enough to beat Memphis.

I would guess because Bama had not beaten UGA or A&M when they lost to Ole Miss. Now Bama has beaten two, at the time, top 10 teams on the road. At the time of the Ole Miss loss Wisconsin was the only team of note they had beaten

I think most media could see how flukey that Bama/Ole Miss game was. With Bama's having a couple unforced turnovers and the miracle helmet play, it wasn't a typical game. Even with five turnovers and a miracle okay, Bama still had a chance to win at the end.

So we're getting the benefit of the doubt because people have seen our absolute worst, and side then have passed the eye test, especially on D. We also are getting it because of our recent history.

Any other SEC team would get the same treatment if they only lost 8 regular season games in 7.5 seasons.

Because a 1 loss sec champ is getting in, same with LSU, or Florida. Ole Miss and Georgia have already lost twice, they arent getting in no matter what. Which 4 teams would you take ahead of a 1 loss SEC Champ?

No worries. I see Bama loosing two more games...

LSU wins a close one and Dak nets 400 yards in a win.

Same reason LFU is a shoe in for any 2 loss team that gets in; it's happened before.
