Agreed. Easley was a monster

I'd put A'shawn Robinson up there for one of the better newcomers

he's played the best.

I thought the guy playing the best means he is the best. Darius Philon has been playing pretty well for a RS freshman. Believe it or not we have a good D line.

Clowney has to be the biggest disappointment.

Yeah, but not really such a surprise when you think about it. A good team with a decent OC can scheme away from a DE, and that seems to be happening. No way was a DE ever gonna be a real Heisman candidate.

on a productivity basis, I'd say Markus Golden. His touch per play played rate is crazy.

Chris Smith at Ark is way out in front on sacks.

I thought Arky's DL was very good. By the end of the year I'd expect Alabama to have at least one guy in the discussion, because that's what they do. Clowney has been invisible in the few SC games I've watched.

Easley was the best until he was injured.

Just go ahead and put LSU's front 4 down. In fact, put LSU's linebackers and secondary down too. Do they meet the qualifications for answer your question? No, but I'd argue that they're such a hysterical flop, they deserve the mention.

If Clowney was getting help from Chaz Sutton on the other side he'd be doing fine but hes going up against double and triple teams every play.

Quarles may have 3 sacks but hes been pretty inconsistent as well and the linebackers not being able to take away the quick 3 step throws prevent Clowney from putting up stats.

Despite what some people want to believe though Clowney is making an impact. Its just not showing up in the stat sheet

eta- Easley but since hes hurt I'll go with Chris Smith

Chris smith is an absolute beast. He was a pretty highly recruited kid as well if I remember correctly. our kid with the biggest potential is philon. Holy shite he's going to be good, so glad bama ran out of scholarships for him.

Darius Philon might be our best DT in years. He's a RS Freshman and coming along very nice
That's good, I hope he sticks it to Nick Saban when Arkansas plays Alabama.

The dude should be at Auburn right now.

Robinson at Bama is monster in the making.

I came here to say this. Odd to think that some people had him as an OL when he committed to Alabama.
