Oh, you mean using only all time wins as the measuring stick, never mind NC's.

When is the last Richt won the SEC?

8 years ago. 11 years since his first one.

By comparison, Spurrier's last SECCG win was 13 years ago.

Richt's defenses at Georgia have not been dominating.

Eight years ago was a long time ago.

"top tier" as in very successful over 12 years in the SEC?

If by very successful you mean underachieving on a yearly basis, then yes.

We have 2 consensus national titles which is also what the university claims.

However we've been declared national champs by one NCAA recognized poll 5 times

No UGA fans ever said we have more then Bams

Only have hardware for 1980 though.

They just arent very physical. They always get blown out at least once a year. He's just good enough that you cant justify firing him. And that will keep UGA finishing somwhere other than first.

Our defenses under van Gorder were very, very stout. Since then? I'd agree.

Well, that wouldn't be fair to Richt seeing as he has spotted Spurrier a head-to-head win three years running and still Spurrier can't seem to do anything with it other than another 10 win season.

Sucks to be a cock

Georgia has a longer term tradition of success than SC, so they will be fine.

Remember that time Bacarri Rambo claimed Marcus Lattimore "wasn't very tough" after Lattimore ran over him numerous times in one game?

Good times.

You must think quite highly of UGA if 10+ win seasons and 5 yards short of the national title is underachieving.

You know, I like you. You have vision. Drive. Goals. I'm nominating you - MC Ride - as UGA coach in waiting. But, so help me God, if you underachieve by losing two SECCGs in a row, I will rain fire down upon you for misleading me!

Good luck

Well, that wouldn't be fair to Spurrier seeing as the SEC has spotted Georgia Big East-like schedules two years running and still Richt can't seem to do anything with it other than get beat in Georgia's biggest regular season game en route to yet another disappointing showing in the SEC Championship game.

if they hire the right guy they will do better. imo, richt is mediocre but is in a state that produces incredible football talent.

I remember ed lacy breaking one of many 10 plus yard runs and Rambo did not want the contact at all.

See, this reeks of butthurt whereas mine was a bit more grounded in actual fact. We beat Florida, Carolina didn't. Oh well.

Actually Florida was a much bigger game than Carolina last year. But whatever, this is your invalid argument we're playing with.

Well, this really is a revelation. Everywhere else I looked had the 2013 SECCG as arguably one of the best - if not the outright best - games of the season and in SEC history. Heartbreaking maybe. But hardly disappointing.

Not a great defensive game, but definitely one of the most exciting. Best SECCG ever.
