Tennessee fans really love clinging to this Richt=Fulmer thing. The only losing season (hell the only truly bad season under Richt) was in 2010, and he followed it up with back-to-back SECCG appearanes.

As for the 07 and 09 wins (woopdy doo!) we've strung off 3 wins straight against UTk since Richt cleaned house on the defensive side of the ball before the '10 season, so... It's a stupid, invalid comparison and I'll ask you to stop making it.

2010 was obviously a rebuilding year.

Was it worth it?

Back to back SEC Championship appearances with a good opportunity for a third would imply, Yes.

I challenge the premise of the OP.

quote:

This is mainly for people that have the belief that once Spurrier leaves (not til 2017 anyways) that USC will slip back into mediocrity.

Sc will not slip back into mediocrity, nor has anyone claimed that. They will slip back into the cellar of bottom feeders.

Mediocrity is where they are now, mediocrity is where Spurrier has been able to bring them up to.

Sure, you've beaten UGA 3 years in a row and your fans have every right to wave that flag and be proud of it. However, the rest of the SEC continues to mouthrape you. Spur has UGA's number, that isn't arguable.

The best teams that SC has ever fielded, in their entire history, have been in the last couple of years.

3rd in the East.

"..back to mediocrity.." NO. You are already mediocre.

Back to the cellar.

And 1/2 of the Coaches he fired for being so shitty are now on the UT sidelines...

If my team hadn't won a conference title since I was in 2nd grade, I'd probably resort to the lowest common denominator of trolling, too.

Honestly, Richt is closer to Dooley than people realize.

Dooley wasn't Bear Bryant. DWI. But he was still a great coach and caught some lucky breaks in 1980 to grab his title.

Meanwhile, in 12 season Richt has a better winning percentage at .723 (118-40) than Dooley's .698 (201-77-10) all time. Richt has had 3 seasons when he just barely missed on a MNC appearance (2002, 2007, 2012) and the guy has rebounded from constant hot-seat talk and shite that has spawned the "CMR has lost control of..." meme.

If I had to compare Richt to anyone, it's Dooley. UGA has never had a Bear or Saban, or Jimmy Johnson or Schnelly, or Meyer or Spurrier. UGA has had a few really good coaches, but not a mountain mover like one of the aforementioned. God help college football when we finally do.

If UGA ever hired a top tier coach instead of a second tier coach like richt they could be scary good.

Forward your suggestions to ad@sports.uga.edu so we can get right on that. Otherwise, you're just playing the same broken record as your bama brethren.

Do you honestly think Richt is a "top tier" coach?

"top tier" as in top 5 in the country? No, of course not.

"top tier" as in very successful over 12 years in the SEC? You're an idiot if you think otherwise.

To the OP, UGA is a top 10-12 all time program and were before CMR. They will be just fine.

You, on the other hand, aren't shite.
