I must admit, I have not been following the Lane Kiffin saga very closely. So let me make sure I have this right:

*Lane makes $1.4 million as OC at Alabama
*Lane has done a fantastic job as OC at Alabama
*Lane was reportedly offered a salary increase to go be the OC at LSU
*Lane was LSU's #1 pick to be their new OC.
*Lane chose to go to FAU to be HC and make $1 million/year

Do I have this right?

So here are my questions:

1) Why is he leaving Alabama? Does Alabama want him out? And if so, why? He's done a great job as OC, why would he voluntarily take a paycut? So if Bama wants him out, what is the reasoning for that decision?

2) Why did he not take the LSU job? So he settled for 30% less money to take a head job that most football fans don't even realize is FBS?

None of this makes sense. Would someone please fill me in as to why Lane would 1) not want to stay at Alabama and 2) not at least head to LSU?

Look deep into the overhead projector of Al Davis and the dead eye look of Lane's dad, and you'll find the answers you seek.

Can't speak for kiff, but he wants to be a head coach, no more to it than that

FAU doesn't have to face Saban on an annual basis.

Lane realized he's not as desirable a coaching prospect as he thought he'd be after coaching offense at Bama. Realized only way he becomes a HC again is if he works his way up

You aren't thinking like Lane thinks... Have you ever seen the girls in Boca?

His contract comes to an end with Bama in February with no signs of extension.

He was dying to be a HC again, the fact he took this is very apparent...

Yes, a bunch of old cougars with money. Boca is not exactly the fountain of youth.

Lane does a lot of drinking and whoring around... That's why Houston didn't offer him the head gig... He's gonna have to show he's matured before a bigger school will offer him a head coaching position.

Programs have heard the Joey Freshwater shite and think he's a gamble to blow up into a big embarrassment, based on off the field stuff.

I think you are confusing Palm Beach and Boca.

Rational thought has no place in this discussion.
