So you're idiot coach flames social media instead of being a man and telling him they're no longer interested?

I agree with that. Mazzone should have sat then down and just laid it out there. Tate's dad did say that Sumllin had a long talk with Tate so I'm sure t was discussed.

I don't know Roger, shouldn't our new OC be allowed to choose a qb that he wants?

Sure - but why not communicate that to the Martell's? Its a year to signing day and Martell is a highly sought after 5* QB - he's got no shortage of suitors and he wasn't going to stick around College Station if he wasn't wanted there.

This was a piss-poor handling of the situation - even by Aggie 5* QB standards.

But they didn't turn down Murray who is probably 5'9 at most

Moorehead is a position coach

Mazzone is the OC

So, Sumlin just "processed" his two highest rated recruits. Bold strategy.

Tate's dad just did an interview where he says that A&M had stopped communicating with the Martells months ago and that our new OC would t even talk to them on their recent two visits to campus.

Tate's dad says he believes Mazsone did not want and wouldn't have used Tate because he was only 5'10".

Good idea to process him now instead of him transferring out because he's a 5* later.

Hopefully they pull his offer. I don't want Tate trying to come back on board later this year.

Well, I mean he'll still be short at the end of the year. I can't see A&M taking him unless he all of a sudden becomes the 6'4" rocket armed, accurate, dual threat guy that they have built their system around.

As I posted earlier, Sumlins on the hot seat and he'd be a fool to not let Mazzone do whatever he feels he needs to do

There are still great QBs out there. Just glad we got the drama over now instead of next Jan.

If Sumlin doesn't do well this fall then we will probably have a shitty '17 class. Such is life. We'll see

Do you think they'd look at Mazzone if Sumlin is fired? I don't know much about Mazzone to be honest.

Exactly. We will avoid LSU's dumpster fire QB situation like last year with Franks.

So let me get this straight.

Y'all didn't want him, yet your assistant coach went on a twitter rant when the kid decommitted?

Did no one tell Moorehead this was good news?

So what yor saying is: the OC didn't want this kid and cut off all ties and ignored him because he was wanting another 5* QB, rather than just saying "hey kid, you're going to be special, but I don't think you'll fit what I want to do here." Also, the OC didn't just get his own, hand-picked QB to commit as well, and letting the two battle it out for the position.

The OC did NOT convey this to any of his staff of coaches/recruiters, resulting in Moorehead's butt hurt tweets?

That's your story? Did I lay that out correctly.

Damn, Sumlin is running a pretty poor operation over there.

LSU, despite the PR nightmare of trying to fire Miles, was able to sign a top teir class, hire one of the brst up and coming D-coordinators, and two assistants that are highly regarded in their profession.
