That would be fine if he hadn't completely denied talking to her before. His story changed and it makes him look like he was covering it up to the people that were investigating cover ups at LSU.

Eh I’m not going to read too much into that. I think it’s become pretty clear LSU perpetually drops the ball on prepping Orgeron how to answer questions or what and what not to say to the media. He has a bad case of verbal diarrhea with everything. My having personal experience prepping witnesses, it’s not uncommon for people to say something didn’t happen if they can’t remember it and having to explain to them to say “I don’t recall” instead of flat out denying something if they aren’t sure. That doesn’t necessarily mean the person is intentionally lying nor does it presume they’re covering something up. Some people just aren’t bright enough to understand how to answer things like that. And I do t think there’s any debate that Ed isn’t exactly the brightest crayon in the box.

It seems likely that LSU told O not to directly call the old lady a liar.

Before he said he did not talk to her. Now it’s changing

Remember, the operative phrase is "I don't recall...."

It seems that LSU needs to get his arse off the radio too. Anyone could say anything in an interview and not even remember what the hell they said in response to a question. Put on the spot with a direct question, who knows what someone might say..
