Miles had a vote with coaches earlier tonight:" Motion to allow Jevonte Domond to remain at LSU with a full athletic scholarship"

in situations like this, I reserve judgment.

it's easy to jump to conclusions, but I just have seen too much bull shite to automatically take the word of a woman in cases like this.

he should not be suspended until the court process is completed, IMHO

I've got no problem with suspending him from gameday activities, but otherwise I fully agree.

curious as to why you cited Georgia law when the incident happened in Louisiana.

I don't particularly like dealing with a pr headache because of juco backup. IMO its much easier to toss him out. Its a win/win it makes the school look tough on discipline issues and allows more grace in other situations that might need it. It is the way the world works, the guy that is replaceable is on a tight leash those that are harder to replace get breaks.

I just did a quick search of simple battery and linked the first somewhat legit looking site.

Louisiana law is very similar:

quote:

Battery in Louisiana is the intentional infliction of force against another person, such as punching another person or hitting someone with an object. (La. Rev. Stat. §14:33.)

quote:

Battery without a weapon and without intentional infliction of serious injury is a simple battery and the least serious battery offense under Louisiana law. (La. Rev. Stat. §14-35.)
