turning down a million bucks for the conference
I'm truly shocked that a fan of a team with a bankrupt athletic department would start this thread.

I normally would get the excuse that they just got a new coach but their new coach was already on staff. They should play.

I believe the NCAA pays out 300k per team for APR requirement acceptance if that is the criteria, most of the lower tier bowls would also pay around 600k to 1million per team, which is redistributed per their conferences rules if required.

So yea, missing a bowl like in this case would be somewhere around 1 to 1.5 million for the conference.

The SEC office has plenty of fish in their kettle that need looking at,, this would be one of them.

The SEC could have told us they wanted us to accept the bid. They didn't, and we didn't want it. We have other things to focus on. It's that simple.

the SEC probably figures Mizzou is such a huge embarrassment to the conference, the less said about it the better.

Well the point is your football team is still stupid, how else could you explain giving up a 4th and 27?

I guess that makes Mizzou "smart" to just never bother getting a lead so they can never blow a lead!! AAU genius from the Yankee tigers

You see Mizzou is like the pimp in the SEC this year. We could go bowling but we would rather sit at home and watch everyone else walk dat stroll and get dat money. We expect to get our cut of the bow

Maybe the most inaccurate post in the history of this site.

That's mizzou's loss only. The conference splits the payout, not the travel costs. Tell those shitty players to stay in the super 8 and eat ramen. I don't give a frick, but our conference deserves their money

Oh yeah that's right... According to remote controlled sources they were announcing the new mizzou coach today

When is the presser?

We don't forfeit the bowl revenue. We will still get the exact same share evey other team in the SEC gets.

I'm glad we turned it down.

1. It gets this shite show of a season over sooner.

2. It gives Odom more time to construct his staff and for our coaches to recruit a bunch of spineless pussies.

I agree with this post.

I don't know for sure but it seems the payout from a bowl with a 5-7 team wouldn't even cover travel expense. Depending on how far they travel obviously, but they have to be there better part of a week.

the point is it brings in more money for the entire conference, and even if a team lost money on expenses, they will still come out ahead, because of the other bowl money that other teams in the conference will bring in and share.

Are there people in here really crying about 100k per team? Seriously?

Almost every team makes more than Mizzou, and you poor bitches are in here crying about a fricking 100k?

A&M took our spot. Helping out our bevo12 bros and the SEC at the same time

Actually we had no business going to a bowl. Odom is just trying to put together a staff and getting recruiting together. A bowl would by a major distraction

If it's not that much, why not just foot the bill and give us what we deserved from your shite team

Porker what happened to set you off on Mizzou? Were you in COMO, thought you might finally be getting laid, and it turned out it was a tranny?
