Ohhhh the stupid that comes alive in this thread.
quote:

State money counts for like 8% of LSU's budget

There's this^ which is almost accurate, off by a few percent as well how obvious it is to the non retard that this is just a strategy against jindal. Then of course you have Hugh who's going to bring up the DC because of the sad sad person he is but oh well.

We all like to make fun of LSU for this, but I really hate it. I have friends there and this could really suck for them. I'd hate for any college and its students to go through this.

Um. Pretty sure crawfish is seafood.

What cuts that are made (if any) will affect a very small percentage of students. But actually, enrollment has increased each year for the last several years. There are ways that deficits and cuts can be made temporarily until the fiscal situation improves, oil and gas prices come back up, etc.

Is this thread really SEC sports related?

Shouldn't it be moved to the "broke arse schools" board ?

No wonder they are making up stuff about us owing them money for Chavis. They need it to actually keep the lights on.

Um. Yes I know that. But your post stated 'crawfish prices' only, as if the ENTIRE STATE ECONOMY is based on crawfish prices..

The big point many are missing is that it only is related to athletics via optics because the AD runs on private money. Coaching salaries only matter if they look bad politically. The money for football is there.

So it mostly just sucks for the academic side.

we could beat A&M's football team with the lights off, in the dark, in the rain, in the snow, .....with Chavis, without Chavis. doesn't matter.

and there's no evidence to prove otherwise or that your even on the same level as a football program. so there's that.

There is no where else to cut unless the legislature rewrites the state constitution to get rid of "protected" funds. Health and hospitals was done away with already. Can't cut from them.

This was also going to happen if O&G was still strong.

We've had 7 years of budget shortfalls and Moody's has lowered our credit rating bc of it.

This was during the O&G boom.

Jindal has fricked this state, and the legislature has done nothing to put a stop to it.
