fans have an INCREDIBLY inflated opinion of their program that can make an Aggie (a frickING AGGIE!) blush, and so I wanted to examine the psychology of it a little more. The little broness is a part of that for sure.

Link? I don't believe you.

And nicknames are part of every rivalry. That's a stupid argument. They call us coots

Where does this delusion come from that we don't know we sucked for most of our history?

I think the reason that we think yall don't know is because yall just don't fricking HOPE that your program doesn't fall back into the abyss after Spurrier, yall EXPECT it to not fall off. From one little bro to another that is pretty delusional let me tell you.

Not today because yall are at a historical high point. I bet yall did like 20 years ago though. I know yall have an army of retarded nicknames for them (taters?).

Don't yall call the Longhorns something like "teasips"?

Do you not know the words to the Aggie War Hymn?

So optimism isn't allowed? We're supposed to just say "yep we'll suck"

We've barely even been posting. It's mostly been negative stuff about this sports season. I honestly don't know where all of this came from?

and do you not have any idea what texas fight is in reference to? but its not like it matters, those songs were made 100 years ago in a situation that is completely different than today

Historically we may be little bro...

But there's a whole generation of people under 30 that don't suffer from that inferiority complex...

That's why when a Clemson fan (or any other fan base looking for a rise) hits us with that overall rivalry record we usually just shrug it off with a "So, what have you done lately?"..

Clemson is a good program but some of their best teams in history just happened to lose to South Carolina for 5 straight years. I guess that's what happens when little bro gets in your head though...

I get that, they call us Aggy.

My point is that anything that can be measured within a 5-15 year period cannot be used as a proof that you aren't a little bro. That includes statements of current coaches, actions of current fans, and the like.

The Aggies aren't a little bro to Texas.

No, its more like working for a horrible boss in a crappy job. You sort of get used to it, but eventually you can't put up with it anymore and you quit. Then you go out and land another job and realize you should have walked away years ago.

I didn't say we weren't? They have the football advantage. There's no denying that.

They're just the ones that act that way. Yes I'm talking about now. Who cares if it was different 10 years ago? We were and are a worse football program than they are. The difference is now they're acting that way even though they are a better football program. Isn't that worse?

Not to mention our facilities and recruiting have been on par with theirs and were only improving. Our program is legitimatizing itself while Clemson twiddles their thumbs.

They'll post anything so that it can circle back to a Texas discussion.

It is just so random. It is like they want to deflect attention from how much they suck and underperform in football by pointing the finger at South Carolina.

i equate it more to the difference between a&m and michigan. michigan is the better program no doubt, but so what? they are better than 99% of college football

This thread is from left field...

I don't think there's a Gamecock fan with common sense that would sit on here and try to convince anybody that historically SC is Clemsons big bro...

Just because there are Gamecock fans that don't expect to drop off after Spurrier leaves doesn't mean it won't happen. It just means fans have expectations... everybody has expectations. Why can't SC?

It's almost as if it riles people up when we don't get upset about them bringing up our poor history.

The difference between SC and most other historically mediocre football programs is that we're aware of our history and accept it. It motivates us to get better. And it's the reason fans no longer EXPECT to suck. Spurrier gave us expectations.

A little more trepidation about the cliff yall are up against is warranted in my opinion.

You personally are the exception though, your recruiting melt was exactly what I am looking for.
