He pulled a hammy signing autographs. Still not back to 100%.

Go watch his last TD run from last night and tell us if you think he's lost a step.

He's intentionally staying in the pocket, working through his reads and making throws. He doesn't exactly need to practice weaving around -- that comes pretty natural.

As Klarvin mentioned, you've seen the prelude to the play book. You know after two games that we are capable of executing:
1. the zone read
2. RB draw play
3. sideline/out routes

There will be plenty more come Saturday. I imagine Manziel will break off a few 20 yard scrambles for you guys -- it'll seem just like old times.

His YPC was brought into question as evidence of him losing a step.

He could run for 200 yards on SHSU, but what would the point be? No reason to risk injury when he can throw for 400 yards and win by 40.

He'll run when Bama gives it to him next week.

He's been sitting in the pocket dropping aces. No need to run so far. You'll see his quickness soon enough.

So defensive, it was just a question cause I'd seen others stating it.

Trying to explain his speed with him trying to stay in the pocket sounds silly.

Very hard to tell. When Johnny has turned on the jets on a couple of runs he looked just as fast as last year. He's definitely bigger and stronger and he is staying in the pocket longer. It's not like he has been up against a stack of AA's though.

A&M is sandbagging their O though, they still haven't even thrown a pass to Cam Clear (new 6'7 TE that has good wheels) even though he was used heavily in Fall Scrimmages. Haven't even put the RSJ/Clear/Evans formation on the field yet with 3 receivers over 6'5.

We will find out everything on Saturday though.

Let's ask this after the game. Personally I don't think he has. I think he lived just as hard last year, but they kept it under wraps a lot better.

Yes, him getting to the corner on a Sam Houston State Freshmen defensive end tells us all we need to know.

4.2 yards per carry so far (13 carries for 67 yards)

He had 17 carries for 60 yards vs. Florida (3.5 ypc) and 13 carries for 124 yards vs. SMU (9.5 ypc) in our first two games last year.

That rounds out to 30 carries for 184 yards. (6.1 ypc).

What you aren't talking about, however is this:

vs. Florida (2012) - 23 for 30, 173 yards, 0 TD

Are you seriously comparing stats from Rice/Sam Houston State to Florida as an argument his ypc is not that far off? You guys are unbelievable.

FYI: I am not passing judgment on whether he lost a step, but the ridiculousness of this comparison.
