Their defense will continue to get worse as long as Steele is their. The D got worse as the season went on. The last two games were their worst of the season.

Actually, the D got better as the season went along, and then when our Offense completely left them out to dry, it played worse (shocker).

And the last two games were against the #1 team and the #7 team with one of the best offenses in the country. Get a better argument.

I'm not huge Steele fan either, but he did a very good job with our defense this year.

We played two elite offenses and had zero help from our offense... what was to be expected? Oklahoma averaged 49 points Conference play... Alabama averaged 40.

Third to last game, auburn held UGA without an offensive touchdown.

Why would we not want our coach to say he thinks we will be improved next year? Isn't that part of his job? Would you want a coach that says we will be worse next year?

Could you imagine the negative recruiting tactics that would include a comment like "we are going to be worse next year"?

Not sure what you expect a coach to say?

How about this:

Next year will be the 5th year of our program here. We've been building and have had a lot of positives. Had some negatives, too, of course, but I really like where we are. We have a solid group of skill players coming back on O next year and will have a fierce QB competition to see who leads this team. Our line play has been good, and we look to build on that next year.

On D we are going to lose a lot of talented players, but, like I said, this will be our 5th year here, so we are replacing those who leave with others we have recruited. There shouldn't be any excuses next year...and there wont be. I'm accountable and the program we've built should be to the point where it is able to sustain losing players and replacing them with more talented players. We are at AU to compete for SEC and National Championships and that is the level I expect us to be at next year. If we aren't, it's on me.
