I would be shocked if he was considered. I’m happy with him, but he has had one good year. If I’m a Bama fan, I’m hoping they are shooting higher than that.

this narrative needs to die. Have you seen how much coaches that get fired are walking away with these days...see Jimbo and O. A coach would be stupid not to take the job if he as an agent worth a damn he will be set for life.

That's my take as well. If you're going to go through the trouble of poaching a coach from within the conference I'd want a little more than one good year *but* BAMA's also likely to find that a lot of coaches want nothing to do with following a legend.
It happens almost every time a legendary coach retires in almost every sport. The program tells themselves they can get whoever they want and then finds out otherwise. Not many want to walk into the situation.
