So can we all just agree that if Bama runs the ball they win?

It seems pretty obvious that the combo of Bo and Hurts read option can dice up a defense and leave them gassed. Bama could have blown out Washington worse but Lane fricked it up and now everyone seems to think Bama doesn't have an offense when really it's just Lane wasn't playing to their strengths. Point is, I'm seeing a lot of over-confident Clemson fans and I haven't seen such confidence from a Bama opponent since 2010. I really don't think it's justified.

You guys beat them in a close game last year.

IMO they are better this year than last year on offense and defense.

We shall see.

Clemson has a physical front. They did well against Henry last year. This isn't a game where we can run every play.

No doubt Bama should have run more against Washington. Clemson shut down tOSU's running game and they have a similar rushing game to ours.

I think Clemson matches up against us better than anyone else in the country. Our defense is amazing but Watson only has to hit a few big plays to put the pressure on our offense, and I'm not completely convinced our offense can carry a game.

Hurts isn't great at passing. Defenses know this now.
That's why the slow down at the end of year scoring wise.

You stack the box on Bama you can slow them down like LSU and Washington did. You just got to find a way past that incredible defense.

I agree. Lane is definitely holding the offense back. I know he says he uses the pass to set up the run, but damn. Bama was averaging almost 9 ypc at one point near the half and he just refused to keep running. I don't get it.

ETA: Hurts really needs to connect on something deep though. At least once. That Clemson front is probably the best Bama has seen outside LSU.

and this is based on one game against an extremely overrated Ohio state team, completely disregarding entire rest of the season, in which they lost to Pitt and almost lost about 6 other games

Clemson looked best yesterday, Bama has across the season. What matters is how they play on the 7th.

By the way, it's spelled "excuses" and you use the term "best" when comparing more than two things.

I contend that they only need to get off of the bus.

I think that Bama faces their biggest chllenge of the year. IF BAMA Offensive line cannot control Clemson's front 5, then the defense will have to score a season high to win this ballgame.

I have thought for the last couple of years that LK was missing the boat by trying to be to cute with the offense and not just lining up and running downhill.

I wouldn't agree with that at all. Clemson has the ability to score on us and they will score on us. If they force Hurts to win the game throwing the ball we will lose. Watson is the best QB in the country and he has a ton of experience that we lack. Our defense can keep us in almost any game but we better find a better offense than we displayed last night or we get beat by double digits!

No. Anybody can line up and stop the run if that is all you are going to do.
