I know players on defense get a belt when they get a turnover

But who is the guy carrying it around all game?

I'm serious, who is this guy? And is his job to really carry around a plastic belt on saturdays in the fall?

It's me, and yes that's my job. Pays well. Cute co-eds abound. I'm not going to lie, it's a super sweet gig.

In the offseason, I polish and and condition the leather on the belt. I also distribute deer antler spray to anyone and everyone one. I don't care if the back-up punter doesn't want any, by God he's going to get at least two sprays per day.

And it's this attention to detail why you got the job.

So, since the magic 8ball decided to shift between boards in the middle of bowl season, and now I can't make a comment in the David Pollock thread I'm just going to deposit it here:

Did they call targeting when he broke his neck?

ETA: And yes, I am triggered and shaking due to this board switching business.

It is funny how motivational that shite is for players though.

It's called the 'Ball Out Belt" and it's awarded anytime a defensive player gets a turnover. And it weighs about 30lbs so it's not plastic sir.

Never heard someone brag about the weight of a belt before. Also, that name must have been thought up by the downs guy that carries it around all game.

this is an old picture, notice Cyrus Jones (now playing with NE Patriots). The current belt guardian is Wilson Love new S&C coach at FAU.
Speaking of watching YOUR game Squirrel hide anything here?

I was thinking the exact same thing judging by the look on his face.

It's Wilson Love, assistant S&C coach. He's going with Kiffin to be FAU's head S&C coach, so we will have to find a new belt man next year. So on game days, yes, his only job is to hold the belt.

For Lane's sake, he better be able to foster a higher work ethic and more determination than his brother had. Biggest bust of the Saban era. Not to mention that Wilson Love got sued by a frat brother for assault after a night of getting plastered out in California.

Being another Scott Cochran involves more than just running around yelling like a lunatic. Cochran is a motivator and commands respect. We'll see if the 24 year old frat boy from Mountain Brook can do that. I'm going to predict no.
