We all know Bama and Auburn control the SEC offices in B-ham. That place should be burned to the ground.

It's assigned by the bowl committee. Its the same field LSU had for practice in the bowl last season. But keep posting without facts, you are doing your fanbase proud...

I guess LSU just doesn't care about the safety of their players like nick does his...

This thread is pathetic and goes to show how warped some of your minds are.

Im sure noone at UA threw out a recommendation as to where they would like to practice to the bowl committee.

That would be borderline risky and could be seen as bending the rules.

Noone ever does that type of stuff in college football.

Yeah, a big project like topdressing the field is such a major undertaking. It takes like, 2-3 hours.

You can make up all of these fairy tale scenarios if you want. The bowl picked the site, that is fact.

Its actually much deeper than that...Saban knew he wanted to recruit Dix and Hart last season, so he had the bowl committee assign LSU to practice on Dr. Phillips' field...all so that he could throw enough games this season to be assigned the same bowl, practice on the same field to show off for the target recruits, and have a ready made excuse for why they were there.

AU needs to find the highest rated player in Arizona and practice as this HS...maybe that is why Westerman is interesd all the sudden.

Y'all will just fire a check on the player directly no need to work on facilities upgrade.

Just curious, what's to keep them from paying for facility upgrades at high schools that they aren't using for bowl practice? Joe McNight is a big recruit out of John Curtis, so USC buys some new lights for the field. Tim Tebow is a big recruit out of Nease, so Florida pays for some new weight room equipment. It can't be conditional on the player's commitment of course, but I could see a move like that having some sway with the recruit.

I've heard that checks have cleared on other players, but they just take the money and run. What's Auburn going to do about it? Call the NCAA and complain.

There is a specific NCAA rule prohibiting it.

Of course, you COULD just get the Auburn folks to arrange a special "loophole" that allows it...

What is the wording of the rule? It seems like it would be easy to have deniability, especially if the booster lives in the same metro area as the high school. He could just say "I read in the newspaper that they needed new sod and made a donation out of the kindness of my heart." How can you prove that statement wrong?

Like any other NCAA rule, if you have established a prior relationship, then you are in the clear. If you lived in the town, and had any interest in the high school before, or had donated money to any civic cause before, then you'd probably be fine.

I donate money to the prep program of a current Auburn commitment...maybe I can get them on probation...?
