I just think the physicality of pounding the ball would be more of a risk than a player taking a few more snaps. Plus, an uptempo offense tends to score fast or have to punt fast hence the defense not being on the field a long time. It just seems like it would be a wash

Yes, he is scared of a team that won 3 SEC games last year.
He is also terrified now that Auburn has plucked another coach from the Sunbelt.
Did any of his player get hurt during the Ole Miss game? No.
Then why else would he come out of that game so concerned about fast offenses?

UGA played 3 HUNH offenses in 2012.
Ole Miss... UGA won 37-10
Georgia Southern... 45-14
Georgia Tech (finished 4th in the nation in rushing yards with the triple option) 42-10
If fast offenses are superior, then why do they keep losing?
This is irrelevant to the OP. What value does your response add about the player safety concern. Take the tampons out of your ears.

If he is really just soooo concerned with player safety he should suspend that dude that almost decapitated Murray for a game or something. Prove he's not just being a bitch

While Ole Miss is on the rise, they were in no way world beaters last season. And let's not even take the other two into consideration, on the account of them being pretty terrible. That, my friend, is why Georgia didn't have any trouble against them. We will get to see how good Georgia is against a true HUNH offense when they play Clemson week 1.

The Texas high school landscape has been changing for a while now. Vast majority of teams spread the ball out, utilize the zone read, and move uptempo. We have seen the popularity of 7 on 7 grow. Kids want to play in a system like A&M's, Oregon, Auburn, etc. Why? Because its an aggressive system. It is un-orthodox and its about being different. It's about not letting your foot off the pedal ever and if your opponent can't stop you, then too fricking bad, we will still run our offense.
We will be seeing less and less of this orthodox, pound the ball mentality of playing football. Running up tempo is safe. Our players are well conditioned and it seems like if the fat fricker from Arkansas doesn't like it, then he better adapt because that is the way college football is moving.

let me put that in Alabama terms. Hard hits hurt. Fast offenses score or strike out fast and don't hurt as much. Better?

If Saban was so concerned about safety, why wasn't this guy suspended?

So no consideration for the D-linemen being in their stance for extended periods of time while the Offense mire-cats the sidelines?
This isn't tiring for the players?

So almost breaking someone's neck is fine but running a few more plays isn't. Seems legit

Don't get fat people and if you do, have them do some cardio.

quote:It was also funny seeing some (let me stress some) Alabama fans claim that it was a clean play, after always bashing Nick Fairley for slamming players down. Nick Fairley never slammed down anyone like that. That Mizzou player could've easily broken his neck if he was shifted just a little more medial.

Looks like a text-book suplex to me.
Sorry Mizzou players don't lift.
