How 'bout replay booth, arrakis?

Not no, but frick NO!

I don't want to get on a soap box, but that job is damn near impossible with the current setup. The replay official has to have much better "looks". As it is, he's not getting what he needs.

Schools are too fricking cheap to put in the system necessary to produce the results everyone wants.

How come you don't ever see any female officials?

You will. There's a couple calling at the college level; one in D1 and I'm all for it.

I wish more would get involved at the HS level and work their way up. Problem is the time it takes to "pay your dues". Raising a family and work make it doubly tough on the ladies.

1.5 under 20 isn't that big of a deal.

yeah, that's just me taking a little jab at the "strict physical standards" required of refs.

Cool, thanks!

How do you get involved and get a chance to call at the HS level? How long does it take to move up?

I have always thought I would like to try it out.

I'm not very big, though - would they say "safety issue" and give me the run around?

In your local area there will be a HS chapter. Meetings usually start at the beginning of summer; just contact them and sign up. Usually it takes a few years calling JV games before moving up to V. Then, it's a matter of getting experience. Nothing beats experience....nothing.

The officials will call every minor penalty. I think they will want to make it difficult for the coaches that complained about them. Every single hold, every little off-sides, everything will be watched for and called.

There's heat on the officials right now too. They are going to be trying to get every call right. To a small degree, and this is far-fetched I know, I've been kinda worried that the refs would start throwing a couple of bullshite flags in the rest of our games just to prove that there's no favoritism.

You don't jump the designated channels of authority.
This would be no issue if the coaches didn't make shite personal and issued their complaints to the office through proper channels.
That way Kiffin wouldn't look like a dumb arse for calling out the Refs for making the right calls.

The proper channels worked out great for LSU in 2006 when the auburn refs cost them a shot at the national championship - I don't even think we received an apology much less a suspension of the refs for that game, so...........frick that, I'm enjoying Kiffin running his mouth. It's good for the SEC.
