Did one of them beat you up and take your girl or something?

Unless you hang out at the same spots they do I cannot see why they would bother you.

NOLA is. It's the only oasis of non-redneck for hundreds of miles in the South.

I'll take the rednecks in Dallas over the trashy guido's in nola any day. But I get your point, If you want to get away from the normal southern city, NOLA is the place to go

I love visiting New Orleans and love the Saints and Hornets. Lafayette is the best city in the state to live. It has a high quality of life.

eh, youre right NIH. The guidos there are mostly tourist. But thats who you run into the most down bourbon and in the quarter. FWIW I love NOLA with all my heart and thank God he placed within driving distance even though it is in MS.

Same here, New Orleans has always felt like home to me.

To answer your question, the northshore of New Orleans has some nice suburbs. Mandeville and Covington to be exact.

Abita is made in a town called Abita Springs which isn't too far away. You can tour the brewery if you're ever up there.

wait, isnt BR a few spots behind NOLA in murder rate, top 3 in worst teeth, and top 10 dangerous cities in the US? Why would it even be considered one of the best towns. I mean Im not very familiar with LA, but I gotta assume there are a lot nice smaller towns in the state.

It's got the same problems as New Orleans without the benefits ie. incredible nightlife, world class dining, pro sports, legit downtown, french quarter, history, etc.

Then you have Lafayette which is the biggest city in the cajun area of Louisiana and beats BR in literally every category. It would be a perfect SEC town, but alas.

Shreveport>BR as well.

You guys are missing the point of the thread. Oxford isn't much bigger than Ole Miss. Baton Rouge is far bigger than LSU.

The area around the LSU campus is one of, if not the nicest areas around any SEC college campus.

The median property value of housing near the LSU campus is $500K +. There is a lot of great food and entertainment within walking distance of the campus. Heck, it lies along side the biggest friggen river on the whole continent.

I'm not reading this crap. I guess it talks about Ole Miss being the most lucrative school for the KKK to hold a rally. I'm sure it also mentions that there are plenty of cellphone towers so Col Nutt gets good service and lightning speed to text the Oxford weather girls.

You are looking at an old census or something.
Oxpatch has almost 20,000 now.
