Wasnt Fran Curci around when you were co champs in the SEC? He was a wad of scum slime. The men in blue at the NCAA came a calling on Lexington when the stink got too bad that all the neighbors complained. Vacated Ws....dontcha hate em?
Curci had a real fondness for the Gators...in 1971 the gators did a "flop" when Curci was at the Uniov of New Jawsey @ Coral Gables and layed down so UM could score TD late in 4th qt giving our qb John Reaves another possession in which he broke NCAA pasing records. The Gator players celebrated the W that night by jumping into the pool with the real Miami Dolphin mascots. Orange Bowl had pool then. Fricker couldnt take a joke. The Candy Canes were soooo bad back then that the school president was serious about dropping football...no $$ in coffers back then or now. Then they hired Shell em Burgers and he developed a fondness for Gators too after UF students pelted his azz and some of the players with oranges at UF. He ordered a FG to be kicked with a minute left to make it a 31-7 win. We never forgot it.
Even Urbs was given the story and when we played them about 4-5 years ago he ordered last minute FG to rub it in...no post game handshake from Wandy Shannon.

It's funny you bring up Schnellenberger though. There's always a discussion of whether he's the one that got away at Kentucky.
