It's not really a dig at Alabama when you read the whole quote. It's a dig at the entire college football system.

Most Alabama fans are too dumb to see that though.

quote:

“Look, football and school don’t go together. They just don’t,” Rosen told Bleacher Report. “Trying to do both is like trying to do two full-time jobs. There are guys who have no business being in school, but they’re here because this is the path to the NFL. There’s no other way. Then there’s the other side that says raise the SAT eligibility requirements. OK, raise the SAT requirement at Alabama and see what kind of team they have. You lose athletes and then the product on the field suffers.”

On the surface, that appears to be a dig at the caliber of student that Alabama is admitting to its football program. But when pressed on what he meant by saying some people have “no business” being in school, he clarified what he meant.

“It’s not that they shouldn’t be in school,” he told Bleacher Report. “Human beings don’t belong in school with our schedules. No one in their right mind should have a football player’s schedule, and go to school. It’s not that some players shouldn’t be in school; it’s just that universities should help them more—instead of just finding ways to keep them eligible.”

REC would find a way to get them in anyways. Bitch better keep his mouth shut.

*edit, just saw the entire quote. I'll notify the head chief.

Totally taken out of context. People suck.

Change the title of this post too. It wasn't in any way a dig.

That wasn't a huge shot if you read it in context with the entire article.

I'm okay with guys majoring in football. Plenty of people major in engineering or law or medicine only to not make it in the end. Why not let people major in sports? They bring more money to the school than the average student.

The article itself even said it was a bit out of context, but regardless, you're the dumb one if you don't think blatantly mentioning someone wasn't intended to be a jab.

He can try to placate the original quote all he wants, but "raise the SAT requirement at Alabama and see what kind of team they have" and "No one in their right mind should have a football player’s schedule, and go to school. It’s not that some players shouldn’t be in school; it’s just that universities should help them more—instead of just finding ways to keep them eligible" have nothing to do with each other.

I'm all for a good bama dig, but don't backtrack dude.

He's also the one who said that, "After 50,000 people, it all sounds the same. It's not that intimidating."
