but I do find it interesting that he threw more TD passes in 2015 than Etling did last year for LSU despite his 109 attempts compared to Etling's 267.

Stidham also played mostly in mop up duty with a head coach who liked running up the score.

Too high for LSU. Should start in the 8-10 range.

SI's 2016 preaseason list with how much they were off in next to it:

SI TEAM OFF BY HOW MUCH:
1 alabama -1
2 clemson 1
3 florida state -5
4 michigan -6
5 LSU -8
6 Oklahoma 1
7 Washington 3
8 Houston -30
9 Ohio St 3
10 Tennessee -12
11 Stanford -1
12 Notre Dame NVR
13 Michigan St NVR
14 Iowa -19
15 Louisville -6
16 Georgia NVR
17 Oklahoma St NVR
18 Washington St -22
19 Ole Miss NVR
20 TCU NVR
21 Oregon NVR
22 UNC -17
23 UCLA NVR
24 SDSU -1
25 Boise St -7

I think it would be generous to call SI's early preseason poll a WAG beyond the top 2-3 spots. based on the last few years it seems pretty clear LSU is in notre dame territory regarding preseason rankings.

In 247sports "too early top 25" LSU is ranked 15th behind Auburn 11th. LSU with only 10 returning "starters" (and not much other quality depth experience), the commentary is worth reading. For what it is worth Auburn returns 16 "starters."

True & State never has to be worried about being rated too high in football!

23.Texas Still too high. This is a team that just changed coaches, has come off of three straight losing seasons, and just lost their leading rusher to the NFL. Not only that, but their recruiting class was outside the top 25.

Just wait till they get a win over some other over rated team to start the season.. Words like Heisman, dynasty, and "back" will be used more then It, and, or, but

and Oregon (17)

Oregon will surprise this year. There's a ton of talent on that team, they just had an awful coaching staff that the players just quit on. Taggart will have a lot to work with.

Louisville will not be good... Their defense just went from whatever it was ranked last year to dead last in the country by hiring Peter Sirmon

Texas, even at 18, feels like LIP service...Herman won't be laying the SMACK down in year one. At least they're back in the PECKing order, but they can KISS a serious ranking goodbye.

That's what Clemson fans thought about Auburn last year when they hired Steele. That dickhead had them playing very well though.

Sometimes a change of scenery is all it takes. Louisville still has some players.
